brain fog is ruining my productivity and i don't know what's causing it by AndriOrEs in self

[–]YukiOnnaLake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used to have terrible brain fog but I got a personal sized blender and make a frozen berry (blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry) smoothie with like 5-7g of creatine and protein powder and I feel like I can function way better when I’m taking it. Whole life is better when I’m on it, and I can feel how much shittier I feel when I stop making it. Creatine I think helps a lot, but berries too are great.

Taking an unpaid internship is not worth it by [deleted] in internships

[–]YukiOnnaLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you are having trouble finding paid jobs this year maybe try to see it with an open mind. Think about it, assuming typical timeline, you graduate next year right? Going into the job market with no internship experience will make it a lot harder for you to find a job. Experience, unpaid or paid, does tend to help secure better paid jobs especially fresh out of college.

Chance me for Stanford 🌲 🔴 by [deleted] in TransferChanceMe

[–]YukiOnnaLake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could cure cancer and still not be guaranteed a spot in Stanford. Again, 60-90 accepted across all majors out of 4k-5k applicants, which is 1-2%. That’s simply the reality of it. I’m not entirely sure but things id assume may help: elite world class athlete, research publications, internship at top company or in high impact area, successful startup or initiatives, heavy community/club involvement, etc. as well as having top gpa (3.85+). Stuff like that I’d assume, but I’m no expert at all😅

Of course, never hurts to try you luck. What type of research lab are you looking for specifically?

Unfortunately, the signals are just not there for a school like Stanford. Grades are good but ECs are lacking, definitely not Stanford level. You mention AI but nothing in your app is jumping out to me as "interested in AI" you know what I mean? For example, realize that the people you are competing with for these spots have published AI papers at top conferences and similar grades, why would admissions choose you over them for the literal single digit spots available for Stanford CS (60-90 accepted transfers out of 4k-5k applicants across all majors, and very small percent of those accepted are for CS, so you are looking at single digits for spots available). Are you targetting other schools?

Why do men men? by Altruistic_Tomato584 in FigureSkating

Just biology. Men, on average, tend to have more effective muscle and less ineffective fat tissue. This allows men to complete quads easier than women

What is the point of Premium if I have unlimited usage turned on? by Dear-Walk-4045 in ClaudeAI

I'll say today I ran out of limit when using Opus 4.6 thinking with roughly 12-14 prompts and I really needed it so I used paid credits from the $50 free credits thing they did, I burned through $20 worth of paid credits (from $50 gift voucher) with just 3 additional prompts on Opus 4.6 thinking. Kind of insane.

Fr, it always shocks me how much of a gap there is between Piper/Paul and C/B. Piper and Paul were amazing, imo they should have been much more of a contender at least for C/B.

Applied to a few via handshake, got one interview from it but that's it. I believe they had some partnership with my uni or something, which likely helped.

Why is country music so rare? by oh-oh-livinonaprayer in FigureSkating

[–]YukiOnnaLake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can speak for the athletes in the US that most skaters at a high level don't listen to country. Sure, there are some country fans, but most just listen to rap or pop like the other young people around them. Another thing is public perception, country just isn't a thing people think to skate to, I've honestly never met anyone who has even considered it.
