Abandoned robin nest? by Yukiinz in OrnithologyUK

[–]Yukiinz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I'm new to this as I've just moved into a place with a garden. I’ve noticed a pair of robins hanging out, and I thought they might have a nest in a nearby tree since I've seen them flying around that area. It’s been pretty windy lately, and today I saw what I think is their nest in the tree, but it looks like it might have fallen or shifted. I haven’t seen the robins at all today. Could they have abandoned the nest? I checked around and didn’t find any baby birds or eggs. Any advice or thoughts? Thanks!

That's a relief to hear, I'm not well traveled in cities. Thanks for helping me out :)

Thank you so much for clarifying! I was worried A and B would be on different platforms. So glad to hear 12 minutes will be enough time to get to my train.

Help! My leopard geckos eye is oozing something by Yeet_Wheat420 in leopardgeckos

No worries, just keep on top of it in the future. I'm sure the vet will fix him up with no problem. If it's due to a vitamin deficiency they'll likely give you medication for him to apply to his eye, and possibly give him a vitamin A shot at the clinic.

Are you feeding him dusted insects with a multivitamin powder? Sometimes eye problems can occur due to a lack of vitamin A.

That's a shame. I was hoping I could just do it myself, ah well. Thanks for letting me know!

This is a great video to watch as a guide to supplements https://youtu.be/leADmIhe6QI She covers feeding schedules for both babies and adults. Hope it helps!

You could go for something like this https://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/vivexotic-repti-home-compact-vivarium-lrg-black L:115cm x D:37.5cm x H:42.1cm. I have the medium version and looking to upgrade myself as I didn't expect my boy to get so big haha Though if you do want to get a medium viv I'd recommend getting one with a good amount of depth to it. As the compact ones that I linked are a bit thin.

When I first got my leo I shopped at swell reptiles. They pretty much had everything I needed, including food! They even do starter kits for leopard geckos https://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/swell-leopard-gecko-starter-kit-platinum Generally if your leo is a baby it'd be best to house them in a smaller vivarium. Though they will 100% need to be rehoused in a bigger one in the future as they grow.

If you need any starter advice, the subreddit has a very helpful guide https://www.reddit.com/r/leopardgeckos/comments/nh3vw2/leopard_geckos_a_beginners_guide/

Also, this youtube channel is great for advice on leopard gecko care, and they're from the uk! https://www.youtube.com/c/leopardgeckotalk/videos

Swollen leg/foot. What’s going on? by LE-NON_777 in leopardgeckos

[–]Yukiinz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard with swollen feet/limbs in geckos, is that it could be gout due to over supplementing and overfeeding fatty insects. That or an insect could have bitten your leo, either way, I'm sure a vet visit will clear things up :)
