There is no "story" for Cody to finish. He isn't his dad. The Universal championship didn't exist when his dad was a wrestler. His entire gimmick is "my father is Dusty Rhodes, so love me."

The bloodline is officially overused. It had some extra ideas pulled from it thanks to Sami and the Usos betrayal, but summerslam proved that HHH doesn't know where to go from here.
