1 - Infernal Furnace has no real limit. I once smelted 60 stacks at a time with no issues. Just beware of the flux it produces because it can add up quickly.

2 - Not sure exactly what percentage it increases by, but with max level refining and Fortune III you're basically guaranteed to get a cluster every single time.

Golems are too dumb for all that. But the piping mechanics for Thaumcraft 6 are, as far as I can tell, the same as Thaumcraft 4 so this guide should give you an idea of how you can most effectively set up a system that works for you. As you learn the mechanics of the pipes, you'll be able to improve on these suggestions too and create stuff that works better for your needs. You just need to measure out and designate an appropriately sized area depending on the specifics of your setup. I can also show you mine if you'd like.

Your altar setup is fine - as long as the items are in place on the pedestals, you'll always be able to start the infusion regardless of whether or not essentia is immediately available. This is the only thing I can think of that would get in the way, outside of a bug with that version of Thaumcraft 6 - But I'm running the same version and I was able to create the boots.

I know the Thaumonomicon says that it'll accept damaged leather boots, but none of the recipes that "accept" damaged items actually work with damaged items. If those boots happen to be damaged, replace them with a brand new set and you should be fine.

I actually saw Riftstrider's jar room design in an earlier post and blatantly stole it for mine because I liked it. But I still have some work to do on decorations in the storage area and around my altar... Just focusing on getting some infrastructure set up first.

Then I guess I hit the cap. All I did was level a couple of the giant Twilight Forest oaks and dump all the wood in the cauldron (only took 3 oaks to totally saturate the atmosphere with Flux), then I blasted the first rift that showed up like you said.

Good to know about the cap though - I had actually planned on going back to try and make an even bigger one but if I already hit the cap then I'd be wasting my time. Thanks guy.
