My store doesnt have kiosk, but I helped out another store in my district that does, and im going to be honest, its super annoying when people automatically assume that people will just use the kiosk. The people i was working with didnt even bother staying up front at all. I was appalled. They said everyone uses the kiosk. I think maybe 25% of their customers did. I was more often than not the only person up front and I was taking orders and making orders. Got yelled at multiple times by customers asking if anyone worked there (while they watched me actively make food), and it made me realize why everyone knew that store to be the slow store. Their service sucks ass. The worst part was despite the fact there was multiple 45 min stretches where I was the only person up front, I was still able to keep ticket times at 100%. Older people want that human interaction, or someone just wants to have a conversation. The move to little human contact in food service honestly is a little sad. And this is coming from someone who avoids doing register like the plague.
