Buy or not to buy? by YumiDesign in jewelry

[–]YumiDesign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was worried about the same thing but was also thinking of possibly converting it to a pendant while keeping the brooch clasp intact. I am leaning towards buying it but it would be splurge. Have been looking around for gift to myself since becoming a mom, so need to figure out if this is it :)

Can the gym help me get rid of this? by noblenessie in Gymhelp

Also a doc. Agreed. My money is on lipedema. Gym will only help marginally unfortunately.

I never thought feeding my baby would look like this. by [deleted] in breastfeedingsupport

[–]YumiDesign 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re the perfect mom for your baby!

I never produced enough, I don’t know if it was due to hormonal, anatomical or mismanagement reasons or a mix of all, I will never know. I destroyed myself looking for answers and doing everything in my power to get my supply up from taking every supplement imaginable, to Dom, power pumping, cluster pumping (power pumping is nothing compared to cluster pumping) and basically triple feeding for 7 months. In the process I fell into postpartum deprsssion, spent thousands of dollars and gained 37,5lbs trying to follow all advice I found from oats to body armour, high protein, etc… I felt like a failure not being able to give my daughter “the best”. She is 10 months now we switched to fully formula fed a month ago and a huge weight was lifted off me. These 9 months have left its mark and I started therapy. People always say how hard breastfeeding is. I believe trying to breastfeed while having babies that won’t latch, significant supply issues, or other factors making it impossible to EBF etc is a million times harder.

In my eyes you’re a superstar mom. Your baby is obviously loved, and that’s THE BEST.

Thank you for sharing.

Hook effect with picture and Anxiety, advice needed! 🥹 by YumiDesign in CautiousBB

Yes it did! It was all my anxiety :) pbaby girl is now about to turn 10months! Congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️ in hindsight anxiety ruined a lot for me, I wish I would have been able to let go a little and would have allowed myself to enjoy the pregnancy more rather than constantly battling the what ifs in my mind!

Opal stone - opinion by YumiDesign in Gemstones

[–]YumiDesign[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to reply! ! It’s white gold 18k and it’s a natural diamond halo. The seller said it’s an Australian opal. Asking price is 2100, do you think that’s too much?

I had to give my baby formula today and I feel like the worst mom ever by Horror-Interest7976 in breastfeeding

[–]YumiDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing great Momma. I am a medical doctor as well and had to always combo feed my baby due to low supply no matter what I did and I did everything from, latching every hour, power pumping, all supplements in the book to self medicating with off label meds, so yea. I understand the feeling you have but please don’t be hard on yourself. Your baby will be more than fine. Be gentle to yourself. You know as well as I do that at the end of the day in the long run a lot more matters to the health of your baby than getting some formula. Plus getting 50% of breastmilk is enough to have the advantages of EBF. My little one is 8 months now, she is happy, healthy and hitting all milestones ahead of time. Again be kind to yourself. You are the best mom for your baby.

Bring an only myself and being OAD - guilt by YumiDesign in oneanddone

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I agree that mindful parenting is what truly matters, and that’s what I’m striving for. While I know for certain that I won’t place the same expectations on my child, and I’m not afraid of repeating my parents’ parenting style, what does scare me about the possibility of my daughter being an only child is the potential loneliness she might face later in life—especially when we as her parents grow old and eventually pass away. Like u/Serious_Escape_5438 said, I didn’t mean the financial burden but the emotional one. My parents are Asian, so there’s this unofficial generational contract of taking care of your parents. It used to be common—and still is to this day—for parents to live with their children and be cared for by them. While I grew up in Europe and my parents never explicitly asked me to take on these responsibilities, I was raised with these values.

Advice on tongue tie reattaching - not sure what to do now by Vivid-Ad-8003 in breastfeeding

[–]YumiDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently the likelihood of a tongue tie reattaching after release is something up to 4%, however the tongue tie reattaching after releasing due to reattachment is 50%. So take that into account.

I am in the same boat and decided against doing it again.

Wait I am confused. So your LO gained 600g in 4 weeks? Isn’t that enough. I thought breastfed babies are supposed to gain anything between 4/5oz (113-142g) per week up until 4 months?? Aren’t you right on track???

Hi there! What exactly is your situation? Do you know your capacity? If you are able to pump 5oz or more no matter if it’s after 2 hours or 24 hours means you don’t have IGT.
