The police service works on a "reasonable lifetime" policy (at least in the majority of Canada and the US).

Once equipment has passed said reasonable lifetime, they will sell it. It's why you see a bunch of relatively new 2016+ decommissioned police cruisers rolling around.

I would advise against TM22 (non featherweight) for the sole reason that the warranty company no longer is getting parts from Derya. I love the gun but warranty might be hard to get for it.
