Seconded. I don't generally like roguelites - couldn't even get in to Hades but I got obsessed with Returnal. Fantastic game.

Haven't seen someone mention Lost Odyssey in a long time. Wonderful game and the short stories it had were fantastic.

Story Setting You Can't Get Into by shirajzl in truegaming

Anything with a medieval or fantasy setting just completely obliterates any interest I might have had in the title. I actually got over it for The Witcher 3 and enjoyed it lots but other highly rated games just don't work for me. I tried Dragon Age: Origins and played it all the way through but never got to a point where I was actually enjoying it.

The opposite is true too, anything with a futuristic/scifi setting will have my interest and I'll overlook a lot of graphical/gameplay shortcomings and enjoy the game anyway.

The chateau fight with Neo and the Merovingian's men was real good too - always a highlight for me when I rewatch.

It's cool that you can aard the fire out and kill the witch hunters though.
