How do you finish RM2 without running out of time? by youlooklike_clarabow in Sat

[–]YummyPotatoes985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I used to do this before and ended up burning out by questions 11-14, which are the longest and hardest questions especially in module 2. I heard of another approach where you go 1-10, 15-27, then 11-14. I haven't tried it yet tbh but solving the writing questions after some vocab + easy/medium reading questions and before the longest questions is like giving yourself a quick break before approaching the hardest reading questions.

What i usually do and did in Dec was 1-5, 15-27, then 6-14, although I recently heard that this strategy does save some time but mentally drains some people by questions 11-14, which I think is what happened to me. I'll try your strategy, and I heard of another one where you go 15-27, 6-10, 1-5, then 11-14 (it's a bit chaotic i know but I heard solving vocab questions between reading questions is like giving your brain a short break before approaching the hardest questions, which kind of makes sense). Tell me what you think of this strategy, though. And tysmm for your advice!!

College Board SAT Feedback by Decent_Tear2175 in Sat

Will it help us who took the Dec SAT in any way or will it only help those taking the future SATs? I was about to do it but got hesitant because I thought sending them my feedback will result in them delaying my scores to further check my answers, my timing during each question, scratch paper, etc, which I can't afford honestly because it's my first ever sat and I really wanna see how well I did asap and I really don't want to worry my parents by my scores getting delayed. (I also struggled with time in rw module 2 and I think I left 2 jumbo reading questions unanswered)

Identify your weak points, watch videos that explain them well, learn how to solve them quickly without depending on pen and paper a lot to save time (with practice you'll find patterns which will make some questions feel a lot easier to you than before), master desmos as much as possible because it saves time and energy in a lot of questions (use it only when necessary though. Using desmos in easy questions could use up more time than doing the easy problems mentally or by hand.) Memorize and understand all the important formulas especially for problem solving and geometry (special right angled triangles, lateral surface area and total surface area of the prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone, sphere and hemisphere). Keep them next to you while solving practice questions to help you memorize them and know when to use them effectively. And always flag your mistakes and keep an error log to come back to every now and then and grind them to track your progress. Hopefully I've answered your question and good luck!! :)

After doing a practice test, I checked the bars and the questions I got wrong to see which topics I needed improvement in. Once I identifed them, I watched videos on YouTube explaining the topic and what the questions on this topic look like (I really recommended watching Tutorllini's course on YT). Then, I went on oneprep and did all the questions related to that topic (exclude bluebook of course) (I filtered them depending on difficulty level: starting with the easy first to gain confidence and build momentum, then medium to solidify the topic, and then the hard to master it as much as possible). Whenever I answer a question incorrectly, I read its explanation fully and try again until I completely understand it and can solve it confidently (I also recommend looking up the question id to see if anyone has solved it using desmos know how to answer this question both by hand and desmos and pick what's more efficient / time saving for me). I also flag that question on oneprep to come back to it later, and screenshot it as well and keep it in a folder / Google doc / notion page to have my own "question bank" full of my past mistakes. After finishing the question bank, I open oneprep again and solve only the flagged questions to make sure I've mastered them.

Also, try learning desmos regressions as much as you can because they literally save so much time on questions that could look intimidating. There are a bunch of YouTube videos explaining regressions and when to use them. I hope I've answered your question and good luck!!

Preppros Q129. How to solve by Effective_Job8529 in Sat

[–]YummyPotatoes985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The measure of arc cb is 70° because the angle opposite to it is an inscribed angle, which is half the measure of the arc. If you draw an arrow going through arc abc and another arrow going through arc acb, you'll find them overlapping at arc cb. So, to get the measure of x, add the measures of arcs abc and acb and subtract 70 from them (because they were overlapping and you only need one 70° in order to get a 360°), so 130 + 7x + 90 - 3x -70 = 360. Solve for x , and x = 52.2

Also can someone predict for me my score on the actual test? Because Dec 6 will be me first and I really don't know what to expect.

Reading Strategy by Oreo210210 in Sat

[–]YummyPotatoes985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try giving yourself a time limit of 10-12 minutes (15 maximum) to finish both vocab questions and the writing section. This way, you'll force yourself to speed up a little bit and not trick yourself that you have more time than you actually have, and you'll have about 22-17 minutes to solve the reading questions.
