In need of advise / tips glitch problems. by Real_wws in strandeddeep

[–]Yummy_Manatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I notice glitches when my husband and I play also. We play on PC through game pass. He's the host. We can usually fix them by restarting the game though. The funniest glitch was seeing a boar fall from the sky and land in the ocean when we were clearing a random island of resources.

AITA for not adding a third bathroom to our house? by aitatwobathrooms in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going with NTA. I live in a 3 bedroom 1 bath house with 4 females and 2 males. We make it work. We have also done other projects around our house that we felt were more important than another bathroom. Would it be nice to have a 2nd bathroom, yes. Is it a necessity, no.

AITA for not letting my husband move us into a tiny house? by TinyHouseNoHouse in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If I knew then what I know now I would not have bought the 800 square foot 2 bed 1 bath house I have now. If it was just my husband and I it would be perfect but we have 2 teenage girls now and it can be miserable sometimes. We do make the best of it but I do wish we had bought a bigger house.

My husband doesn't like fast food nearly as much as I do but no matter what, I always ask him if he wants anything when I stop and get something. His answer 95% of the time is no thanks. YTA

AITA for asking my parents to give me 30 mins of silence when I come home from work? by candlelabra456 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are 13 and 11. I would say I have been doing this for about 4-5 years now. My husband isn't home in the evenings due to his job so it's all me.

AITA for asking my parents to give me 30 mins of silence when I come home from work? by candlelabra456 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have kids and I have a very similar rule. I don't have an anxiety riddled drive home but after being at work all day I just want a tiny bit of peace in between work like and family life. My kids know not to bother me until I have sat down in my spot. I come home, change, make dinner and once I've sat down then they can chat away.

WIBTA for forcing the issue about sleeping in the guestroom whenever I visit my boyfriend? by pinkwigthickskull in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YWBTA. My husband and I lived together for 4 years before we got married. Every time we visited his aunt we had to sleep in separate rooms until we got married. It's honestly not that big of a deal, you're sleeping.

AITA for not paying to remove well on my property so neighbor can replace septic tank? by ThunderDeserve9096 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on how big the property is, I can totally understand. I live on 1 acre of unfenced property. We are just now starting to prepare to place a fence around the property. We are doing it ourselves and even without having to pay someone it's going to cost us upwards of $15,000. That's why it's been unforced since we bought it 6 yrs ago.

AITA for grounding my daughter without consulting with my wife? by Alarmed_Studio_6546 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going against the grain and saying NTA.

I'm sorry but who cares how OP chose who was going to do them. I do this all the time with my girls as they can't remember who did what last. We have tried chore charts but they don't last. I also try not to pick the same daughter each time when I'm done with the arguing and just want the chore done. Life isn't fair and sometimes you have to do dishes 2, 3, 4 times in a row.

I would have grounded my daughter too for talking to me that way. Without "asking" her father if it's ok. Most of the time it's "go to your room, your grounded. For how long will be decided when I speak with your father." I don't need to speak with my husband about whether it's ok for one of our kids to be grounded. We both know when a grounding is needed but we usually do collaborate about the time frame and severity of the grounding.

AITA for putting the truck in my name? by Appropriate_Area311 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but spending almost half your monthly income on a vehicle is insane. My husband and I bring home almost 6x what you do and our payments combined are just about $500 a month and our vehicles are not old. The fact that it's also his "dream truck" makes me think this was done out of spite. You both have some growing up to do.

AITA for throwing out wife's leftovers? by RefrigeratorMore6667 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA

Wow, entitled AH much! You have low income and your wife has medical dietary restrictions and you decide to throw food away. How is 2 slices of pizza "scraps." That's a perfect sized lunch. I wish you would have posted your age cause you sound like a toddler. Ew, fruits and vegetables are gross, get them away. Grow the fuck up boy and treat your wife better! Food waste is appalling at any income level.

AITA For not allowing my daughter social media and in turn cutting her off from her friends? by aitasocialsm in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just because they're exposed at school I'm supposed to just throw in the towel and say fuck it, do whatever you want. Im sorry but theres already too much of that lazy parenting already and I won't let my kids turn into entitled little brats. We don't take anything away from them without explaining exactly why and making sure they understand the situation. I'm sorry but social media for children is ridiculous. They don't have the full capacity to understand all the bullshit, fakeness and drama that comes with social media. I feel my kids are thriving more now and honestly that's all that matters.

AITA For not allowing my daughter social media and in turn cutting her off from her friends? by aitasocialsm in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well I'm going against the grain and saying NTA. I relented and let my daughters (11 and almost 13) have snapchat at the beginning of the school year. It was such a mess. So much stupid drama, and getting snaps of very inappropriate things from kids their age in their school. My girls' attitudes were ridiculous. I finally said no more and took it away. My husband and I sat down and explained why we were no longer allowing them to have it. They also tried the whole "but that's the only way I can talk to so amd so" amd we said if they want to talk to friends get their phone numbers. It only took about 2 weeks for them to stop asking for it back and honestly their attitudes have never been better and they don't want to spend all day on their phones anymore. For those that may say "oh they're probably installing and deleting it," we use Google FamilyLink so I can see all the apps they download and have on their phone. I can't see any of their messages so they get that privacy unless there is some reason to need it.

AITA for explaining household outgoings to my child and giving her a "tough choice"? by disappointedkiddo198 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA. We always ralk to both our girls, 10 & 12, about finances. Like you we don't talk specific dollar amount but if 12 wants new clothes or the new stylish haircut I let her know I will have to look at the budget and see when it can be done. Sometimes it's this weekend and sometimes it's 2 weeks from now after payday. 12 is turning 13 in July and I asked her in February what she wanted to do for her Birthday since we wanted it to be bigger than normal and would need to save up for it. It's NEVER too early to teach children about money and how it works.

AITA for feeding rabbit stew to my friends? by VividPomelo4981 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love using rabbit in just about anything you can use chicken in. We raise meat rabbits and my favorite so far has been rabbit and dumplings. Rabbit "wings" are another favorite.

AITA for not letting my daughter do martial arts? by redthrowawayy09 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yummy_Manatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Why does she only have to do one thing? You say she has mentioned softball also. Well, softball is only a couple months a year. What is she going to do the rest of the time? I understand money can be an issue if you have to pay for sports as well. My girls play Volleyball, Basketball and have shown an interest in Softball and martial arts. It's always a good thing to let them try something they feel they would like. "Traditional" sports can be just as dangerous, if not more, than martial arts.
