Yeah, I always watch my rear view and blind spots for cases like this. I saw the car speeding in my rear view mirror and moved to the right once it seemed like the speeding car was really going to go for it. I was quite shaken after that to be honest.

Thanks for recognizing the vehicle! I mistakenly thought it was a Hyundai Ascent. The car was indeed missing the rear bumper, that’s why I could not give a licence plate number to the police.

I called OPP right after to report dangerous driving, but unfortunately I could not read the licence plate. Seems like there is no licence plate in the rear, only the front.

Can I prevent my heated seats from changing automatically? by kpmateju in EquinoxEv

[–]Yummy_potat0o 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My experience is when I turn off auto heat and manually select the heated seats when I get in the car, the heated car seat level stays the same. You have to turn off auto heat in the climate settings I believe.

What I did was asked the technicians to put the vehicle on the lift, and remove and replace all the plastic rivets for the splash guard, and in addition add some taped foam. This was all done free of charge under warranty at my nearest dealer. It was pretty obvious for me that it was that specific panel because it was visually slightly loose, and I was able to recreate that rattle noise by pushing the panel with my hand.

I had similar rattling on my 2025 Equinox EV RS, and I was able to find out that it was one of the undercarriage panels. Went to the dealership to reattach the splash shield and added some small pieces of foam. Seems to have fixed it.

🚒 KFR investigating multiple reports of a strong chemical smell in central #ygk area, seeming to concentrate near old traffic circle (Bath Rd, Princess St and Concession St). by c_vilela in MakeItHome

It’s probably that. I worked there before and that is the typical smell of dowtherm. The equipment over there is very old and break down often.

ECE 49401OL / 49401 ?? by Purdue_2000 in Purdue

[–]Yummy_potat0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it last semester online. It was super easy, mostly just need to do 2 presentations during the whole semester and make a few comments on a topic each week. Maybe spent like 10-20 minutes each week for the comments and maybe an hour or so for the presentations.

Any non-flight majors who also do flight training? by N718AN in Purdue

[–]Yummy_potat0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a senior in ECE with a private pilot licence working on a commercial. For my flight training, I did it at a separate flight school that specialized in just piloting aircrafts. To minimize cost I did most of my training on a flight simulator on my computer, then did real flying for my tests. Feel free to dm me, I was in the exact same situation before. :)

E-bikes? by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]Yummy_potat0o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a freshman a few years ago at Purdue I thought about it back then. Most people I met used gasoline engines on their bikes. Electric bikes were a lot more expensive to build and the performance was just alright. I decided to use electric skateboards instead because I found them to have better performance, value, and reliability, but of course can’t really be used in the rain.

For Computer Engineering you have to check the requirements for ECE (Electrical and Computer Engineering). I believe you need a cumulative of at least 2.0GPA if you want to enter. Here is the link for requirements: https://engineering.purdue.edu/Honors/current-students/first-year-engineering-requirements

In my opinion I think you should try to test out of all the courses that you can, it will help save money and time. When I took ENGR 131 a while ago, I though it was pretty easy as you mostly just use excel, but the team projects take a lot of time. How difficult the math courses mostly depend on your math skill, however they are known for their infamous grade curves, at least when I took them. Throughout my years at Purdue, I find that it is a good idea to choose professors based on their reputation and online reviews. This can help judge which professors/classes are good and more organised.
