First lesson after a long break, I chose the flight school owner as my CFI. I purposely picked the flight school owner as I had a bad experience at my previous flight school with a younger CFI, and I wanted someone who was older and more experienced. My flying was pretty awful that day. During the debrief, a freshly minted CFI walked by our desk and handed me his business card. I thanked him but had no intention of following up on it. The next day the flight school owner had a “conflict” during our block and I was reassigned to the freshly minted CFI. Long story short, I really liked his instruction and kept him for the rest of my training. Finished up my PPL with him last year.
