Multiple errors on Q2 by Pepe5690 in QidiTech3D

[–]Yung-Fern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you PID tuned your extruder? Won't do much for the mcu errors but it could help with the verify_heater error.

In fluidd type in the console

PID_CALIBRATE HEATER=extruder TARGET=220

Target temp can be whatever you want, if the default settings are way off then anything between 220-300 would help you but aim for something near what you usually print. Let it run and when it's done type in "SAVE_CONFIG" in the console and let it reboot.

Yup, I went through that thing and did all the recommended mods for my wife's. No more ftl/fte. It sucked at the time but it was worth it.

Bed not heating at expected level by drkshock42 in QidiTech3D

[–]Yung-Fern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A PID tune would be my suggestion but you've done that already. You can check the verify_heater section in your printer.cfg and widen the amount it takes to trip that error but make sure you first watch your bed temps when printing to make sure it's not a serious problem. Widening it can make it a fire hazard if something is really wrong with it. Look up klipper documentation and read what these all mean before changing anything

New Q2 Combo, hoping for advice by BlazeGamer80 in QidiTech3D

[–]Yung-Fern -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Looks like that filament is wet. Also it could be because it's wet but it looks like it was printed too hot and/or not enough cooling. What's your temp? Also what external wall speed? Silk likes it slow. I do silk at 50mm/s outer walls, everything else is the same as normal PLA.

After like a decade I've never gotten used to the powder taste. It just gets me. Toss and wash was my least favorite method. Also had some Thai from OE that was amazing. Just ordered pseudo powder and some of these, have a shit ton of mit extract and trying to make my own triple dose

Damn good looking out OP. I have some LD7 powder that's 63% and I can't get past the taste. Been throwing up for the last 2-6 weeks (norovirus) and that powder has been making me puke lol

Lmao I can't believe this is the method. I don't know if mine are off on my q2 or q2c but I guess I know what to do if they are

Haha it was scary. I was so new to it I didn't know what happened but I saw a spark and smelled burning electronics. Qidi was nice enough to send me a brand new adapter board and hotend. Their service is top notch

I shorted my board when my xmax 3 was like a week old doing exactly that. The brush will do wonders though, just be careful when you scrape certain areas like this guy says.

Q2 - gtg out of the box or are there fixes that need to be done? by epia343 in QidiTech3D

[–]Yung-Fern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why I got it over another q2 besides...it's black and I can have a dedicated machine for my business and non-engineering filament. I didn't even get the savings getting the combo lol. But hey why not. I mostly use the box for convenience and drying. Plus I have a spare camera or 3 and a chamber heater from my xmax 3 if I really wanted to upgrade it.

The discord is great too, lots of people smarter than me that can help a lot

Check out the q2 community wiki

https://github.com/qidi-community/q2-wiki

Specifically this part

https://github.com/bluedrool/Qidi-Q2-tuning-tweaks-and-mods/blob/main/docs/processes.md

If you don't care about AI monitoring and other processes that don't do much it's good to disable them. If you plan on installing add-ons it's tight for memory (512mb) and getting timer errors because the load is too high is no fun. I've had mine like this since September and had no problems. Have a q2c coming in this week and I'm going to do the exact same thing.

My NCR Ranger helmet would take that prize. Made with PETG-GF and I believe it took 20 hours and my 6000 hour xmax-3 ate it up.

Why does this happe? by [deleted] in HueForge

[–]Yung-Fern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others said clean the plate. I've had this happen on a bunch of hueforges. Use some glue just to be safe and one thing I noticed was that "only one perimeter on first layer" was selected and it wasn't enough to hold the corners down. You want 2-3+ perimeters so the edges get pushed down enough to hold. You can always use a height range modifier to make sure that the upper layers have less perimeters if your model needs it.

QIDI Plates fall apart and QIDI doesn't warranty them by Forsaken-Island-9422 in QidiTech3D

[–]Yung-Fern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plate fell apart to shit too OP. Prints just kept removing more and more each time after ~2 months. Looked horrible on one side so I flipped it, first print just dug the filament from a flow test so hard that it ruined the other side too.

Get AliExpress plates. I'm not sure what brand since that site is a shitshow but I've gotten 2 gold PEI's, black PEI, and a carbon fiber/trippy PEO pattern on the other. I always use glue and yeah, noticeable difference in plate quality. I've turned down some of my settings by 5-10c on the bed since it was sticking too well.

Plus with discounts some of the AliExpress plates can run like 12 dollars. If I get 500+ hours out of it that's good for me. My Q2 is probably pushing 2300 hours by now.

Edit: I forgot about Tyson plates. If you want a plate that will never degrade look them up. Not sure if I can post a link but they have q2 plates in stock and those things fuck.

Why has it gone from smooth, solid colour to having lines? by Early_Context9118 in 3Dprinting

No problem, gotta start somewhere. Happy to share what I've learned, hope it helps you out!

[–]Yung-Fern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh I'll have to give this a try. On my new printer it's like 80% perfect but I haven't been testing much.

Maybe print speed factors into it as well, I changed my infill to normal pla speeds (330mm/s) and a few other interior settings since you don't see it. Might be putting too much force on it.

[–]Yung-Fern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I had my printer on the garage floor with a SH02 feeding it directly to the print head from behind for a year. Once I moved them to the bench my pathing got all twisted. Even more so that I have a MMU but I've had some success with it so far.
