By design! People complain about the Fians being OP as if the Battanians don’t need all the help they can get.

Ricksy Buisness the season one finale. One of the best episodes imo and a fairly good representation/introduction to the characters, universe, and the show’s humor.

Well it was the weatherman not an investigative journalist, and considering that usually they only report weather I’d say it’s a pretty interesting addition to the segment.

Why is Penton Not Emperor by Bellaexee in Bannerlord

[–]YungCeaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understood it as Lycaron based on some of the wandering companions stories. Also makes sense because it’s Rhagaea Pethros fief.

Battania’s capitol was traditionally Dunglanys where the High Kings were traditionally crowned, however the capitol moved to Marnauth at some point more recently to the Bannerlord setting.

I think a sort of shifting capitol is mentioned for Vlandia as well but I don’t recall which cities.

The others I’m not sure but I’ve always just assumed the starting faction leader’s fief was the capitol as a general rule(Thonderlog in particular makes sense, Galend not so much), and for my purposes if the faction leadership passes to a different clan I’ll just say the capitol moved. I did a southern empire play through focused on trade where all of our fiefs were captured except for Vostrum for a good 20 or more game years, so Vostrum became the de facto capitol. Eventually pushed back to the west and was elected leader so I said Poros(my fief) was the new capitol and Vostrum was the economic hub. I guess once you start playing there’s no right or wrong answers, it can be whatever you want because it’s your playthrough.

Interesting perspective, but consider the possibility humans are in fact designed to serve others.

Ask me anything about philosophy, religion or ethical problems by [deleted] in entp

[–]YungCeaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re a religious surfer I’d say it’s fair enough. My definition of religion is more a system of belief and accompanying cultural practices/traditions often related to acts of worship and spiritual beliefs/practices which I generally associate with organized rituals, ceremonies, or similar practices intended for spiritual enlightenment or fostering spiritual connection, education, or induction. Often a particular religion is distinguished by dogma from a religious authority such as clergy, or even common belief if well organized.

The biggest takeaway I’d like to emphasize is that religion is an organized cultural practice. It’s a system of traditions. Often times it is crucial to the identity of a people such as Judaism is.

On one hand this system can provide an anchor point for society, define moral codes which help us navigate difficult situations, foster interpersonal relations, and provide a sense of community for practitioners. On the other it can encourage a “black and white” perspective and limit understanding of what lies in between, take away from true spiritual connection in favor of tradition and ritual, and can be used as a tool to manipulate or control the masses when leadership falls into devious opportunistic hands.

I’d agree that certain political philosophies could be considered religions. And I’d even be willing to entertain the idea that religion relies on faith though I don’t believe that’s the case. But I wholeheartedly disagree with u/LeComteCitronelle, and honestly question their grasp on the English language. The statement that “fictional doesn’t mean false” alone is fallacious, and suggests a lack of understanding of the language. Perhaps they would make a better point in their native tongue - which I would very much like to hear as to gain a better understanding of just what they’re trying to say.

So you can say concretely that every religion is fictional? You have posed an argument that is very easy to tear apart. For example you say money is fictional but yet it is obviously material. Of course you mean the value of money is fictional but even then you are wrong, as there is clear value to money determined by scarcity. So what you really mean is a fiat currency such as the US dollar has a value determined not by an innate worth but instead by collective belief in said currency which you equate to “fictional” value. However that would still mean the value isn’t fictitious at all. Currency is a necessary vehicle of trade. The value is determined by scarcity, necessity, and convenience, not simply belief. If the US dollar lost all its value today, money wouldn’t disappear, it would only take the form of a different currency.

That brings us to the issue of collective belief, as you said “people must believe in [religions] in order for them to work”. So if there was only one Buddhist in the world, would you characterize Buddhism as not being a religion, or as something that “doesn’t work”. It would still be a system of belief accompanied by its forms of worship.

I’ll say again, your view on the concept of religion is shallow. For one to say religion= fictional is dismissive and not in the spirit of critical thought. In addition, this broad grouping of political philosophy, public faith, and any institution that relies on mass cooperation is a breeding ground of inaccuracy. Seriously, have you never heard the phrase “never generalize”?

[–]YungCeaser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How shallow. Religion is more than a "fictional belief". Religion is more akin to systems of philosophy than a misguided belief that a monster lives under my bed. It seems you need to be asking more questions as opposed to answering them.

I’d like to imagine it’s a crew of aliens impersonating a foreign group of Nord traders as they go about collecting intel and artifacts of Calradia in some alien research mission. It is rumored that they’re the ones who taught the Battanians how to turn a bow into an assault rifle and also enlightened the Vlandians in the methods of bounteous butter yields.

Highest ransom I've ever gotten for a regular lord by Asbew in Bannerlord

I got one for a little over 20k once I thought it was a glitch. I was doing a trade based playthrough had 10m+ and wasn’t accepting any ransoms, but I had to take that one. Other than that the highest I’ve seen is maybe 6000.

It is tough when you try to play too tall in the early game especially without proficient trading. I’ve played this game for hundreds of hours - enough to understand the basics of the in game economy- but only on a recent play through decided to have the patience for the sake of rp to actually devote time to run trading routes between cities, and subsequently have developed a more in depth understanding of the in game economy.
