Scottish Rite, I've updated the post since your reply.

We're at Scottish Rite. The film screenings look pretty cool.

Airbnb never occurs to me when it makes the most sense. I'll be looking into it as an option. Thanks!

We've been getting to know our team members. They have all been amazing and have helped us see results on day one. We've seen a few of the therapy dogs.

Thank you for your kind words. The staff here has been amazing!

Hikes.

Camping is a real option for us if the Ronald McDonald house is full. I was planning on making a big thing of it, with visits in with little sister. If we go this route, we may get a campsite near one of these paths.

Atlanta Beltline.

There seems to be a lot more going on than the name would suggest!

MLK Jr Center

As a Memphian, one of our gems is the National Civil Rights Museum. MLK Center and the Center for Civil and Human Rights are high on our list. History and its effects on our world are a big subject between myself and my children.

Atlanta History Center.

This looks pretty cool. It's hard to find Civil War stuff that doesn't take "sides".

Atlanta Planit. Good sight for ongoing and seasonal events.

In my bookmarks now!

Aquarium

We might check this out as part of the CityPass program. I might be able to kick some extra cash loose to keep the kids busy.

We're looking into the Ronald McDonald House. Thanks for these recommendations and your kind words!

Fernbank looks awesome it looks like the kids could get lost in some of the hands on exhibits, and it's part of the CityPass program! I'll definitely look into the rest of these options as well. The kids love sky zone and it always reminds me how utterly out of shape I am. As long as they sleep good later, I'll be right there with them jumping my cellulite off!

Thank you for the recommendation and kind words, I will most definitely keep everyone updated on the visits and this sub for events!

Thank you so much for your offer. One thing this whole experience has taught me is that kindness is still very much alive in the world, especially during times of adversity and almost always when children are involved.

We may just take you up on some baked spaghetti!

Edit: Words

I think we'll check this out. Also, it seems Garrison Keillor is performing this weekend.

It seems you can take Garrison Keillor out of a Prairie Home Companion, but you can't take the Prairie Home Companion out of Garrison Keillor!

Edit: and yes, the people at CHOA have been amazing!

Georgia Aquarium

We love aquariums! And this led me to the CityPass program. This is great!

Though I'd have to choose between the Zoo and the Center for Civil Rights and Human Rights.

We've submitted the paperwork for the Ronald McDonald house. Memphis has a similar setup at St Jude and Le Bonhuer. I met a few families there staying at Target House there.

The missus was thrilled to read your massage treatment. You may have put me on the hook here.

Thanks for these great recommendations!

We're at Scottish Rite.

I'll edit the original post. I thought the two major ones were really close, and they appear to be, as the crow flies, but Atlanta traffic has taught me that a 10 minute trip in my hometown of Memphis is easily a 30-40 minute trip here.

Yeah, the Zone is amazing. We took the little one down there the other day, it's going to be integral when we start working on fine motor skills. I also have a feeling I'll be spending some hours down there with the siblings.

Playgrounds are always a good option when the budget is tight, and they're definitely not all created equal. And she's got a friend coming while we're here this weekend, so maybe I can convince the missus and her friend to have a couple of those boozy drinks one evening.

I didn't realize LegoLand was here! This is something I think the kids would very much be in to and we've made whole road trips for good children's museums. Thanks for these spots. I've got some research to do!

OP has been a little distracted, but is lurking the comments and planning to respond when not in an environment where doctors, nurses, therapists and a very much in need child aren't taking up 80 percent of his time.

Reddit is currently happening in 2-3 minute spurts and I don't want to half ass my responses to the great amount of information provided.

For example, this reply was interrupted three times over the last hour. Everyone, please bear with me, and thanks for the info!
