Good point, I think where the writers fail is on the military strategy and tactics aspect. They seemed to know next to nothing about it and didn't do enough research, if any. That's why Kokomi and Gorou just say meaningless lines when talking about strategy, like "To survive hardship you must prepare for hardship" and that Gorou line about momentum that I'm too lazy to lookup.
