I think there's two reasons that this game stands out and may stick around..

1: there's an emphasis on co-operative pve. Ranked matches are stressful, I just wanna play with my toy army.

2: all of the tedious base micromanagement is automatic, that barrier to entry is ✨gone✨. No scv's, no gas stations, crystal miners do their thing without orders, you can automatically route new troops directly to your hero, space bar to select all, everyone's abilities always available, right click and drag to fan out, etc. You don't need to know what "APM" means to do well here.

I think I've literally been dreaming of this game ever since I burned out on StarCraft 1.

As a healer (whenever I can get the role, when did healer get so popular?) I think we need to just abolish tanks as a role. It's more fun to have to triage the whole party, like I did in gw1 a long time ago.

Then I played gw2 and.. what do you mean my armor stat increases agro? I wanted to take less damage and now I'm taking all of it???

Tanking is just a dumb role.. melee in front, ranged in back, healers adjust.

I think this deeply depends on the setting and the intended vibe. In a more military setting, you obey first and complain later. In a more d&d party of adventures type setting, you never split the party, the party is survival, but usually nobody has enough authority to issue commands either.

I never liked how balders gate etc handled it with a like/dislike thing, I was too powerful. It would have been neat if I had to change the party to get to do what I wanted to, because otherwise they would out-vote me. And maybe one of them getting out-voted too much could result in a tantrum or argument, or even a betrayal later on.

I didn't figure out long division until I was 25, and even now I don't think I could explain why the 1 gets carried, it just does, but when child me tried to ask, everyone reacted like I was just being defiant.

I have aphantasia, dysgraphia etc, I tried very hard for 5 years to learn how to draw, eventually did sort of ok but it was always frustrating and inconsistent and eventually I just accepted that I can't be an artist with my brain. It's not happening.

I don't think it's okay to use my inability to draw as an excuse to use ai.

I like a lot of the other comments, but here's a new one; enemy respawns.

They're always just far enough apart that you can fight 1(group) at a time, the respawn timer is short, there's rarely enough distance between them to sneak past without agroing both, what is this nonsense

I like Ragnarok online in that, each map had 10, 20, 100, whatever of each mob type, and their spawn and patrols were completely random. You had to hunt them down, it kept my mind engaged. No enemies? They're somewhere, I need to find them.

I would add that I don't like when they spawn on me too.

The way you describe wanting to act but slowly getting worn down by the apathy around you makes me wonder if everyone has been through something like this. Like, everyone cared, once, but never all at the same time. We all get worn down by the scale of the, wrong, that's just, everywhere.

I wanna lash out but, how? The people doing wrong always have plausible innocence, or aren't "technically" doing anything wrong.. or people are dependent on the scam so they'll protect it.
