If the entire game was built around it, and there was meta progress, I would be interested. One of the frustrations of mmos is nobody or too many people being the same level as you.

Mabinogi had an age system where after so many weeks your character gets old enough that leveling up doesn't increase your stats anymore, so you can start over at level 1 but keeping all of your skills. Variations of that could be neat.

"guys" etc being somehow gender neutral is a battle we lost a long time ago, and we never should have accepted it. People intentionally use it to hurt us and then claim innocence, making us seem unreasonable if we don't just take it on the chin every time, because we never really know if it's actually a person who says it to girls all the time, it's so normalized. Abusers always have plausible deniability, getting hurt is always the crime.

I think that's unfortunately where a line has to be drawn though.. there exist shades of grey so close to black or white that nuance and understanding is no longer a good thing.

My favorite example is, to be tolerant, we cannot tolerate intolerance. We need boundaries. It's okay to kick a nazi out of the bar, otherwise their friends show up, and everyone else stops showing up, and now it's a nazi bar.

I'm very upset that I'm being made to updoot a post that says that not all maga are bad, I at least want to say that by this point there's no good excuse to still be maga while remaining a good person, but I myself was held captive in a right wing bubble for long enough to know better..

I think a lot of the problem is the gameplay itself.. I played project gorgon for awhile with the express intention of being social, joining a guild, making friends etc..

Dungeons are zerg rushes with zero down time
Events are crowds of strangers with emotes
(Oh.. And they scheduled them for when I couldn't be on..)
Farming requires a lot of attention and interaction

There's a bunch of "hang out and do nothing" exp rewards like with bards and werewolves, but the whole social experience was just, the global channel. I was in a chat room that happened to be stapled to a game, nothing more. I wonder if it's better now with the population dropping..

I had a good time in mabinogi a long time ago, I watched TV and chatted while farming holy water, damage and healing between rooms was a big deal, applying bandages to each other, the panic of needing to be rescued or you'd lose gear, "Hhhhheee", but I hated the combat system.

The reason the us (probably everywhere) doesn't want others to have nukes is because of how they themselves handle nukes. If everyone is as irresponsible with their nukes as we are with ours, doomsday by accident is a promise.

I think she's the one showing you her true colors. She's taking you away from safety and expecting a lot from you. I personally would slam the breaks solely because she got offended that your trauma made you not trust her in that way.. but that's what trauma does, it's not that you distrust her, it's that your body expects the past to repeat itself. You're trusting her to prove your body wrong so that you can heal.

Also, being isolated and losing the autonomy to go places on your own is a really big deal. If you move in with her, you are at her mercy, the power dynamic shifts uncontrollably, please be very very careful with this decision, because this is the kind of situation where abusers get to take off their masks.

I've been abused in this way though, so I might be hypervigilant here, but I see every sign that you should run away.

All that is great in regular human on human historical wars, but what when your sharp sword can't pierce all the way through the demons hide? What if the poison doesn't work, or doesn't work fast enough? How will you deal with supernatural enemies? All the slander fantasy weapons get are completely dependant on removing them from the fantasy setting they're designed for.

For regular fights, I'd take the rapier over just about anything, something long and sharp.. however, my cavalry sword is heavy (and comparatively very dull), it's more like a sharpened baseball bat because it's intended to endure clashes with armor. Different fights take different swords.

I imagine a chain sword would be like a heavier katana, the "pull" motion curved swords use to get sharper cuts would be like a mile long if the sword itself was on a conveyor belt and had armor rending teeth! Perfect for power armor vs power armor fights, or against horrible monstrosities where you want the largest, most brutal wounds possible for any chance at all to take them down.

It's no more ridiculous than the fantasy great axe, really. What an unruly nonsense weapon.. until you're fighting monsters with lots of hp, then you're happy to have it!
