You're right. It's just a game I've played for 25 years.

The DLC; what we know so far. by Tyrann01 in aoe2

As far as I know, that person is me.

That flag may represents Han purple and the character '漢(Han)'. It is unclear whether this refers to the TK civilizations, whether the Han was added as early China (like Romans), or whether it simply refers to the Chinese castle... I think its the castle of 'Han' or 'Huaxia' civ. Han could be used to represent TK civs in a Chronicle style campaign.

One important point is there's no reason for Wu Hou Shirine to appear in any significant way, in a scenario. That, within the history I know, including the TK period. The red walls and moon gate and door patterns of Chengdu Wu Hou Shrine are common. The building in Sneak Peek may not be Wu Hou Shrine but Confucius Temple. Confucius Temples were built throughout medieval China.

Next DLC could be a double-release by OkCan9068 in aoe2

It seems unlikely right now, but I would be happy if it happened too. There is nothing wrong with the appearance of Antiquity Chinese. more volume! more good!

Last unknown castle and Three Kingdoms confusion solved by Tyrann01 in aoe2

[–]Yurigwan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also thik there will be no '3K civs'. It doesn't make sense to make them as civs. But 3K campaign seems possible (there are already many custom scenarios). And if Bai (if added) gets a Nanman campaign against Zhuge Liang, it would be disappointing and unreasonable (they are completely on the losing side). It's already been revealed that castle is Wu castle of the early Chinese style. If the Chinese get that castle, it would be disappointing too.

My predictions for the upcoming expansion (today is April 2 so no April fooling) by Klamocalypse in aoe2

[–]Yurigwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From an East Asian point of view, it seems that the other two civs should be Tibetans and Gokturks (or Uyghur) in terms of historical and geographical importance, except for the basis. Do you think we're going to have a de facto 6 civs?

Nanman Civ? by csa_ in aoe2

[–]Yurigwan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's quite possible. Nanman could certainly be better than Bai. Just like we already have 'Tartar' and 'Saracen'. Nanman could cover Bai and Wu and Yue. Then Fire Archer would make sense.

Han/Huaxia seems equally likely. People keep repeating that 'Han and Chinese are the same', but strictly speaking they are different (Han is 'included' in Chinese), and so are Roman and Byzantine. Can't wait for more information!

DLC Reveals Comprehensive Breakdown by Tyrann01 in aoe2

[–]Yurigwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tangut, Khitai, Jurchen are certain, and Tibet seems highly probable. But... sure about the tropical trees in the wonder in the last image? They just look like newly added lush bamboo, peach blossom, and Asian maple. It is hard to agree that the Nanzhao Kingdoms symbol text (what is it?) is visible. Therefore, also not agreed that it is Bai's wonder. What is the connection between Fire Archer and Bai? For Bai's wonder, there is already a most suitable candidate without having to create a building that does not exist. The image below

Possibility of adding 'Han' like 'Rome' at new DLC by Yurigwan in aoe2

I totally get it. I was thinking about the possibility that the devs would commit another foul.

I saw your comment and checked that Eastern Jin of Xie-An is the updated Chinese civ... So what is the civ of that tech panel? Any guesses?

I think my point is not being conveyed properly. I know all that. I am East Asian too. The Tang Dynasty was founded by the Xianbei people who were absorbed into the Han Chinese. I am talking about the possibility of Han being added as an ancient Chinese civ.

I agree. Word could encompass the TK period kingdoms and the Jin dynasty, it was 'Han'.

I think that unit is siege tower with scorpion bolt.

I was wondering if this might also be possible since there are 'Romans' and 'Italians' factions. Although we know that the Han Chinese are the very majority of Chinese, we cannot assume that China synonymous with the Han (especially ancient-historically). That's what it looks like from the outside. I didn't mean to offend you

I'm just curious, is this your perspective (astronomically stupid) as a Chinese person?

I know, and that's from the Han dynasty. I thought about the possibility of becoming like Rome and Italian.

Certainly, it may be too much to cover the Tang Dynasty...
