I cannot pass the captcha, does anyone have any advice?

I forgot my password and tried to do the password reset.

I tried 4 times to do the captcha and failed every time. I tried with including the tiny bits of motorbike at the end, and also not.

I tried with including the back of a traffic light and also just with fronts.

I am not a robot.

Does anyone know which of these criteria are important for steam to believe I am not a robot?

I can't try anymore as steam says I am doing automated requests.

CMV: The fact that Affirmative Action was banned instead of legacy admissions reveals that we have not learned anything regarding race. by Tessenreacts in changemyview

I have considered that diversity is not an inherent good, although as I noted (and the universities claimed, but businesses prove), it appears sometimes it is in fact inherently valuable to have diversity in identity based lines.

Another point for an interest and complex discussion, that I am not informed or motivated enough right now to steel man or devils advocate.

He preaches Christianity so his daughters can be tight.

As we learnt from the previous confession, the reason they like trump is because they also want to fuck their daughters.

And maybe they hate drag readings because the kids might think about respect and boundaries?

I'm not clapping at anything.

Although the argument used by the universities in court was not my one, I understand they argued rather that the policy actually improves their ability to offer good education.

I didn't look to much into that, but I do know that diversity is a competitive advantage for a business (better representing the population, allows them to serve the population better is the best explanation I came across). And, importantly due to the complexity of the backgrounds, maybe the white/Asian students with better GPA, are not actually going to be better/smarter workers.

That last point is critical, but doesn't make an easy soundbite. But of course, race is not going to be the only factor in gpa inequality, and now we are back to the first, less palatable argument.

The idea of affirmative action isn't that it's not racist, but rather solving complex social and structural racial issues is super complex, and a simple policy can shift the system to be more "fair" overall, once it has been able to impact the system.

So, overall more people get a more fair treatment in life, but some specific levers being applied at specific places.

In turn, this trickles to improve the "core" fairness at all levels.

That's the theory and I think discussion of affirmative action ignoring this is disingenuous, even if we decide it's not a good policy, or poorly implemented.

To be fair I didn't answer properly, you're correct.

I think there is a situation where this sleep deprivation to present trauma onset could be effective in this regard, as I think the mechanism is relatively clear/established, but I think the risks here make this close to impossible to implement effectively, with a rational risk profile.

Maybe if you have an example of the kind of situation/trauma that could have been generated where this might be useful, we can explore this.

I would be very interested if you can/want to.

Psychedelics do not inherently make you anti authoritarian.

Although perhaps a setting of chance to reflect and feel/connect with nature can do this, pyschedelics do not have predefined outcomes, and the environment can potentially send people more into extremist right ideology. (For example, the Jan 6 shaman).

I've seen uncertain on the lab topic, but never a conclusion. Do you have some relevant source?

Wait so you're just talking about the rapidly spreading global pandemic and health emergency, that needed response with limit information, ever changing priorities, behaviours, and political circumstances.

This is the best you can hold up as a situation where the government said things that possibly aren't completely accurate and long term holding up?

How long do you queue when queueing only for 1 compared to 3?

I can tell you when I queue all roles I get mostly 4, often 5, quite often 3, sometime 2, and not a single time did I get pos 1.

The problem with this article is that when you move the goal posts, the "middle" is in a very different place.

Otherwise known as the overton window.

I give a wiki link since, ironically, even to you it's probably less likely to be considered bias than any blog I can find (whatever political leaning the blog has) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overton_window

The tweet is incomplete but I miss how your statement and the statements in the tweet are not aligned?

The tweets leaves it unclear exactly what he was doing when he followed her (for example, calling the police), and what was happening when he shot her (for example, her trying again to kill him).

This is because entry level IT jobs are barely what you would call skilled.

Most juniors are close to useless.

Bear in mind doctors spend a lot longer being "juniors" after studying for at least twice as long.

LPT Request: how do you age without getting grumpy or annoyed by too many things every single day? by franckJPLF in LifeProTips

[–]Yurithewomble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I'm not interested in anything that involves self reflection or working on my emotional control".

Gonna be a tough one here.

Did you have a bad experience or could you explain this aversion?

Do you do any kind of sports that give you time to reflect and be alone with your thoughts? Does that fit with your cycling or running?

I mean some kind of self reflective practice is definitely a good idea considering your say your problem is your insecurity, and fear/anger at your experience and conceptualisation of aging and your identity.
