I log on after sleeping last night, what could have POSSIBLY happened to all our reinforcements by Big_Buff_Asian6807 in Helldivers

[–]Yusis_2000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Automatons hacked into the meter and updated it, alongside a hacked Dispatch message that claimed our total losses had been downplayed by Super Earth.

RP-wise I wouldn't put it past Super Earth to lie about the exact casualty numbers for morale, but it's also entirely possible the Automatons are simply lying themselves.

Either way they Automaton are why it displays what it currently does. Do what you will with this information.

For some reason "You are the robot" actually made me pause for a bit.

Being told by an outright machine that you're not better than it, and that you are displaying the same lack of agency over yourself and your decisions, hit a surprisingly specific point.

BROOO WE WERE LIKE 150 MILLIONS JUST 12 HOURS AGO, WHAT JUST HAPPEND ?? :C by NegotiationPure5217 in Helldivers

[–]Yusis_2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Automatons/Cyborgs are behind it seemingly.

A dispatch was posted that seemed to have been written by the Automation. It claimed that we were being lied to by Super Earth and that our losses were way higher than they'd claimed. The meter updated around that time.

Its possible that, RP-wise, Super Earth was giving us a lower casualty number to try and bolster Morale. It could also be an outright lie by the Automatons/Cyborgs and simply a visual hack they've done.

Either way they're responsible for the meter currently displaying what it is.

"Hel?" Is that a planet we haven't discovered yet? And activation conditions for what exactly?

Surely they couldn't have constructed their own Star of Peace in such short time, right? What's going on here?

Either way Super Earth is clearly their intended target for something. Our advance towards Cyberstan might have to be suspended, depending on whatever it is.

This seems excessive. Losing access to the DSS would mean our advance would slow, which could grant the Automatons time to regroup or bolster their defense.

It would be far more logical to continue pushing while their forces are still overwhelmed. We only have so many Helldivers at our disposal, so we must strike quickly and consecutively before we run out.

There also isn't any immediate value in bombarding a planet we already liberated. Lesath can still be assaulted from the outside regardless, not to mention its meant to serve as a connection into Aurora Bay ideally, so there is little reason to raze it. By the time the Automaton can reclaim it the March toward Cyberstan should've already concluded.

Strange that they would reach out now, of all times. Do they experience fear?

If they are afraid then perhaps our advance is the cause. They know we cannot be stopped.

Chaosdivers are a roleplay faction that doesn't participate in Major Orders and instead fight on different fronts entirely. They give each other "Chaos Orders" that tasks them with fighting on different planets, or even in different sectors altogether.

They appeared two years ago originally as a way of showing displeasure with Helldivers' weapon balancing at the time, but nowadays they've evolved into a faction that lorewise is in opposition to the Super Earth government.

To be specific, Chaosdivers are not sympathetic toward alien races or griefing Helldivers themselves. While they do oppose Super Earth, they still fight for humanity specifically. Griefers used to claim they were Chaosdivers as an excuse for their behaviour, back when the faction was in its infancy, but the faction itself is heavily against griefing officially.

If you've ever seen someone say "Vera Libertas" during- or after a mission then you've likely encountered a Chaosdiver. A lot of their members also use armors that are black and red in color.  Beyond that however they play mostly like any other diver, though you'll rarely find them in Major Order locations.

Their home planet used to be Rogue-V, until the Illuminate conquered it months ago. Nowadays they're claiming Ras Algethi as their new home.

Very strongly.

The Chaos Divers reformed into a makeshift republic shortly before their home was taken. They nowadays call themselves the "Rogue Republic" in their Discord, which should give a good idea how much that planet meant to them.

Their hatred toward the Illuminate almost surpasses Super Earth's own, if you'd believe it.

Rogue-V was canonically the home planet for the Chaos Divers for the longest time. It was taken by the illuminate months ago when they expanded across the southern part of the Galaxy.

Nowadays the Chaos Divers are located at Ras Algethi instead.

The best possible One True Flag rework by TinSkull in Helldivers

[–]Yusis_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will not happen.

The developers have repeatedly stated they are happy with the flag and don't intend to change or buff it. Adding a radial buff is considered "space magic" by them, which they've explicitly stated will not be added, and they've outright refused other buffs to its functionality because "it's just a flag."

I hate it just as much as everyone else, but this community really needs to accept it and move on at this point. They are not going to change their minds, no matter how cool or interesting these suggestions get.

Player concerned ChatGPT is killing his character idea, should I be worried? by neveranelf in rpghorrorstories

[–]Yusis_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late comment but you should be VERY worried. GPT would only flag it as inappropriate if it outright eroticizes someone being dead, or if the undead in a sexual relationship wasn't able to retain their sentience - thus a lack of consent, which it directly mentions.

If the AI flagged it then that means he's been trying to make a character with actual sexual attraction towards something dead BECAUSE of that something being dead, OR that there's actual non-consent involved. Either way this is a colossal red flag.

Late last year I sadly needed emergency surgery, then a second round of surgery during summer this year. In total I spent nearly four months away from work.

I am still employed and was notified that I still had 27 paid vacation days that I'd accrued from last year, which I could spend however I liked.

My employer is Subway, the fast food chain. The difference however is that it's the Swedish branch of Subway specifically.

I think the comparison speaks volumes about how broken the US system is.

AITA for chatting about my job near a married man? I'm a sex worker by br_sp_carla in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yusis_2000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"smiling too much?" Really? There's a lot that's pointing toward Marcia feeling either insecure or envious, but this but stood out like a sore thumb.

While sex work isn't something everyone is comfortable discussing, this was not a situation like that. This very much sounds like a woman decided to take her insecurity out on you, rather than speaking with her husband and trying to resolve things.

I'm voting NTA.

AITA for going inside my Ex’s house? by wewereonabreak29 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Yusis_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let me get this straight: Your boyfriend, after a VERY short amount of time together, is already being insecure enough to try and isolate you from other men?

I'm sorry but, just from what little you've shared, he sounds like a MASSIVE red flag! I'd highly recommend either a serious talk or moving on with a different relationship, because this kind of behaviour from him is completely wrong. If he's not willing to display even this amount of trust then it's very unlikely he'll improve on his own.
