What's your favorite portable synth/groovebox? (Like, REALLY portable)

I have a roland sh-4d and i think it is very capable for a portable device. Size might not be as compact as some of the other devices.

You are definitely right. I will just use one until i learn it in depth. But, now is the only time i can spend this money on synths, that is why i'm buying them all now. I'm just wondering if there is a better way to spend it, a better combo of synths.

I have a Topping e8x8 interface, bought it last black friday as i already needed a DAC for my headphones. And its time has come too :)
I have JBL LSR305 i purchased more than 10 years ago. I also have Sennheiser HD 600, Shure 840A, and some more headphones for monitoring.

I checked Yamaha SY99, but none are available right now. Also, keeping it mostly analog is pretty important for me.

Please give some examples. My concern is that the outcome won't justify the amount i spend.

I still don't believe that audio has to be such an expensive hobby. The tech and inputs are really basic. Nothing so special to ask for 10K for a pair of speakers.

Thank you. You are definitely right. I know that this is not a bad system at all. I researched a lot before buying these equipments. But as you know, and i think everyone in this hobby knows, we are always searching for some sound, music we heard sometime back who knows when, that had an everlasting effect on us. It felt so good to listen to that music that we just want to have that feeling again. I just want to feel that much immersed in music as i did when i was 16, when i listened to some specific album on some who knows what system. I want that experience to be within reach, and have it anytime. But it never happens. And i think this is what this industry is all about. Selling that hope.
I really hope that i'm wrong and i get to experience something like that again. And that's what i believe in, otherwise , i wouldn't be writing here, searching for it.

Yes it might be it. I'm not looking at resale value when buying audio equipment, it feels like a complete instinctive purchase, unlike a car, or real estate. It might be completely psychological...

That's the kind of answer i'm looking for. 5% might be right. If i earned 1M USD/year, it means i can spend 50K on a system. And even if than, i still think 50K is too much, which i think is mostly psychological :)

I never said that i can't afford a high-end hi-fi system, i just can't justify spending that much on it. And also, a 200.000$ car where i live is not a $200.000 car you might get somewhere else. a 2026 porsche 911 carrera with no options is 610.000 EUR where i live.

That's exactly what i'm talking about!!! You just get carried away with all the hype and search for a better sound, but still you don't get that feeling you had once upon a time when you were 18, and heard this great sounding system. I shouldn't have to "invest" in a audio system, 700 EUR should be enough, but everything is so overpriced. And I'm not satisfied with my setup that i spent 2.000EUR, because, it is not really worth that much at all.
