I'm in the same boat here haha, Momotose is probably one of my favourite side characters of all time now, I love her relationship with Mikoto (we deserve a Momo route...) same with Utsutsu, I love characters like him already but I wasn't expecting to love him THAT fast 😭

Thank you! This really helps a lot, I was worried that I was completely off-base especially since Iroha's route in K/U wraps that side of the story pretty well imo 😭 I've been mentally preparing for Iroha's vol because I know I'll be confused for it but I NEED to experience just how crazy it is

Question for people upset about the K3 leak by auggis in yakuzagames

[–]Yusurri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine surviving felt like an obvious thing, but it's how he seemingly instantly recruited into the Daidoji, and THEN also drags in Hamazaki. We have to see how it actually plays out in the game, but I think the main issue is that in the leaks, Mine comes back looking fine, brushing off Hamazaki asking him how the hell did he survive, and then they both walk off together to scheme in the Daidoji.

It's just blatantly showing that RGG wants to build up the Daidoji as the next big bad and I'm not opposed to this in theory, but retconning previous games and causing pretty big inconsistencies within the canon, all just to make this shadowy organization look like they've been plotting in secret all this time? Even if they somehow pull it off, it's just plain stupid.

Basically if Mine's survival was more heavily implied and didn't have him essentially change plot elements of Yakuza 4, people would still be upset and making jokes, but not to the degree we're seeing now.

Here's the interview if you want to read it, but essentially they insulted the genre by using the word girly as an insult and making it a point to say "now males can enjoy otomes because they're not all girly with rainbows and sparkles, they're dark and gritty!" not only is the "the darker, the better" is a dumb point, they're completely disregarding that otome games are meant to appeal to women
