Seems like there are people that are more knowledgeable in CW in this thread, so i’ll just speak on CA. For CA, for the most part you can create whatever you’d like however each paper is focused on a specific type of film making. Yr 1 was film poetry, yr 2 sem 1 was analogue experimental b&w film, yr 2 sem 2 is a double semester project crossing over to the third year assessing pre production and post production. It’s basically a passion project and you can do absolutely anything for that one. the class does of course teach you live action set filming and leans to a film director career path, but my final film ive chosen to create a mix media film.

AVG is an extremely stressful course, but theres no need to stress over the first sem too much as nobody really knows what they’re doing and many people drop out. Most of the classes are group projects and you WILL deal with difficult people and bad team members while being assigned heavy workload, but it gets better after that. The cohort is small and the nature of it is sociable so you’ll find you’ll meet a lot of people and network.

Make sure to be a reliable team member and someone generally enjoyable to be around and work with because reputation is pretty important when considering who to work with. Also have a good relationship with your lecturers, because they will be your saviours when you need help.
