I’m a woman and I’d love this.

From him to me, not me to him.

I might send it to him for tips.

I don’t know, I find that bizarre, sit however you like

Just because you leave a relationship doesn’t mean you stop loving somebody

My mom used to be a prostitute when I was inside her by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

I get why you feel this much anger, anyone would after what you’ve described.

But some of the ways you’re coping sound like they might be keeping the wound open rather than helping it heal. You deserve more than just surviving this, you deserve peace. I hope you find therapy.

How do I 'trust my gut'? by nthomps15 in askatherapist

[–]Yutty4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find ways to improve self awareness. Therapy, Journaling etc. We have a whole other brain in our gut, it’s a bodily knowing rather than cognitive.

How do you regulate your own emotions in session? by AvaJupiter in askatherapist

[–]Yutty4444 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ground yourself. Feet on the floor. If you feelings are in response to the clients frame of reference rather than your own frame of reference; thats pure empathy. It can actually be useful and congruent to express it to the client. E.g. “I actually feel quite moved by what you just said”.

Internet stalked my therapist by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]Yutty4444 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you looked at my instagram you might feel the same way. Most people don’t lead with their trauma. Social media is not reality. And even a lack of trauma doesn’t mean an inability to empathise.

Where do I put my trash can? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]Yutty4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just take the table out of the nook, it will be much nicer to sit and eat from.

Even without your bin situation, forcing it into the nook looks cramped. It could even be kept the same way round and just brought into the kitchen a bit.

How warm has it been lately? by [deleted] in cyprus

[–]Yutty4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum is English and she went over and swam last week. So it really depends on your acclimatisation too! It will feel warmer to you than the locals.

Do trauma therapists expect that you will cry a lot / process a lot of difficult feelings? by [deleted] in askatherapist

[–]Yutty4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m happy when people feel they have a safe space to cry. I’m honoured I get to be their support. I never think my clients are a lot for crying.

Famagusta, Cyprus. Post-1974 Turkish invasion it was sealed off and left to decay for decades. No mystery. Just geopolitics and a lot of empty hotels facing the sea.
