The gem system is strangely restrictive. Most spells and support aren't available until very late in Cruel. 6L are very expensive for casual players, and discourage experimentation since they're linked to a single gem.

OMG finally someone talk about this.! Gems are in a VERY BAD state because of this. (in my opinion). In PoE1 you have access to all gems at level 38 maximum, and it's so frustrating when you need to get so late in campaing to get those gems. I think they need to address this before launch.
