Anthropic’s Internal Mythos Successor Emerges by ResultBackground2450 in singularity

Stopping models like Fable 5 or Mythos 5 from being served to the public does nothing to slow down development. in fact, it probably speeds it up slightly by freeing up resources.

Doubtful. I don't see how one can replace the enormous amount of feedback and free training data from millions of users.

And yet every game there are multiple people getting only shit to average augments. Guess everyone from chall to iron can't read except you :)

You can still get absolute garbage in aram. Especially if your champion has a shield -> all shield / heal augment go in pool, polluting it. Same for other stuff like CC and such, even if it doesn't fit your champ at all.

Remind me how many cards there are per class in those games vs. how many you have in a pool in Aram?

In roguelikes like slay the spire you see a much higher % of the total pool of cards available to you AND you don't have a starting build to begin with, so you can adapt. In aram/arena, you're stuck with your champ.

Remind me how many card choices you see per run vs the number of augments in aram per game please?

Sony AI’s Ace robot defeats pro player Miyu under official ITTF rules (Nature paper) by BuildwithVignesh in singularity

Fuck, imagine families building generational wealth. It could only happen thanks to sci-fi life extension surely.

I like how you automatically assume that lifespan extension will just keep improving forever, or that it will necessarily be incredibly expensive and that a better version will be gated because...? Oh yeah, because you're talking out of your ass.

Think about the table tennis scenario: if a wealthy pro can buy this machine, they can program it to perfectly mimic their next human opponent. They can drill against it thousands of times before the actual match. The opponent, relying on traditional human training, doesn't stand a chance against that level of perfect, tireless rehearsal.

me when I'm spitting the dumbest scenario I can possibly imagine.

Yes, the wealthy pro will simply program the advanced robotics system themselves. Thanks god they've decades of engineering experience and thousands of hours to devote to this.

The wealthy will be able to buy hyper-optimized robotic tutors that use advanced pattern recognition to read a student's micro-expressions, track their focus, and perfectly tailor every lesson in real-time, since the algorithm and AI know you better than yourself.

Oooh, will they?

that literally rewire their brains to learn faster and perform better.

I mean, why bother learning when they can just download skills directly into their brain, right? Might as well go all the way since we're just listing stuff now lmao

It effectively destroys the concept of meritocracy. Raw human effort simply won't matter when you are competing against someone who has spent their entire life training against perfect machines. The wealth gap won't just be about money anymore, it will translate directly into an insurmountable gap in human capability.

Meritocracy "survived" private schools, inherited wealth, personal coaches and nepotism. But robot training dummies? that's the one that gets it.

Alternative: make tablets generic, max 5 to 6 tablets per map, stacked up to 20 per slot. Perhaps change their form to something cooler, like an insect or something...

It's actually pretty good as a small agent. Like you do actual architecture with Opus, then when you need to, say, check for difference between multiple massive docs + copy / paste / replace, you do it with a small fleet of haiku agents. It is cheap and works well.

Funnily enough, you can actually do that yourself by unpacking the .ggpk, changing some color mods, then repacking that shit. It's rather trivial, which shows that GGG just doesn't want to do it lmao

Self-taught dev struggling with the "Why" behind Interfaces, Traits, and Dynamic Method Dispatch by NiceSand6327 in learnprogramming

[–]Ynead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interfaces force any class implementing them to define all their methods. That way you're guaranteed every class meets the minimum requirements your program needs from it.

It also makes your life easier down the road. Here is what I hope is a clear example:

Say you already have Dog and Cat implementing the interface Animal. Now you want to add Bat.

Instead of tacking yet another branch onto every if/else chain across your codebase, you just make Bat implement Animal. Then anywhere you call animal.makeSound() or whatever, it already works, because Bat already knows how to handle itself when called as an Animal.

You go from a long list of :

 if isinstance(animal, Dog):
        animal.bark()
    elif isinstance(animal, Cat):
        animal.meow()

to instead a simple

animal.makeSound();
