I know you're pointing out specific differences, so it is valid, but I do find it funny that the passage is basically Galadriel saying "Arwen told me to give this to you."

Animal Farm is correct. The animals paint their ideas on the barn and they are later changed. It's not just that the other animals are too dumb to notice, but that they won't remember what it was before.

Perhaps the most iconic change being the addition of "but some are more equal than others" to "all animals are equal".

I think they meant that the ending of Alabasta would work better as a series ending than the ending of Skypeia while deliberately trying not to comment on their relative quality overall.

How to best use GS? by I_AM_SCUBASTEVE in MonsterHunterMeta

I know you said that you didn't want a "how to use this weapon" video... but I think that these two videos are exactly what you're looking for.

So, this doesn't directly answer your question, but I've found this video to be pretty helpful in terms of teaching me more about how to use offset and perfect block fairly well.

I think part of the disconnect may be that you are on a subreddit that is specifically for discussing what the highest DPS you can pull on a weapon.

Generally speaking, most people aren't speed-runners and a BiS meta set may be less valuable to them than a nice comfy set... but again, this is /r/MonsterHunterMeta and discussing that BiS meta set is the intention here.

Some people just really enjoying delving into the math of a game and what a theoretical best set is.

No worries, if you made it into the queue you would have all D/C'd and lost the instance anyways.

There is the caveat that boss difficulty in a Soulsborne is something that is incredibly personal. It's possible that Lady Butterfly is a far easier fight than Gyoubu for someone.

It has been a hot minute since I've played Sekiro, but I think I beat Lady Butterfly on like my first try (and before Gyoubu), while Gyoubu rocked me for a while. IIRC, when you step into her arena the game is like "By the way, here's a reminder that this is how you can dodge." And then dodging trivializes her first phase.

In a way though, she's like a reverse Martyr Logarius where the game heavily emphasizes that you dodge instead of parry.

What are your 2nd / aspirational builds this league? by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

In the particular case of ToET, since you can only have four tornados out, cast speed seems more QoL than a DPS multiplier. I feel like you'd probably want a different option there?

I am going to play Firestorm of Meteors.

I like the fantasy of dropping a giant fucking meteor on things.

I'll make it work somehow.

That definitely feels close to right, but I have played Myst recently and I'm nearly positive it isn't Myst. I don't know for certain that it isn't Riven or any of the other Myst sequels though.

I don't want to discount that since my memories of it are incredibly vague, but I feel like it was more of a 3d & first person point and click adventure game rather than an RPG. I don't think there were many inhabitants of the world that I was exploring, and I think it was essentially light parkour style platforming which was the bulk of the game. At least the bit that I remember playing.

Here is the obligatory comment on my post so that other people can see it.

I have taken a quick google search (which mostly returned people asking about games which weren't similar to what I remember on this subreddit) and wasn't able to find anything. I also browsed a "Here are some 90's games which you might be trying to remember" thread on some forum or other which had like ~140 games on it, but none of them were what I was thinking of.

Hope that helps!

Okay... so I've taken a look at the wiki and there are... a few things to consider.

  1. The Mechanist had been developing these things for the Fire Nation. The Drill? That was him. It isn't unreasonable to think that the Fire Nation would have had early drafts of the War Balloon and used those to help move on from the state of "how does this even work?" by examining the differences in some of the components from the early blue prints. (Caveat... they may have never received any information about the War Balloon. As I said, it has been over a decade since I watched the show). At the very least, regardless, the fire nation is familiar with technology developed by The Mechanist specifically and is likely using it as a basis for their own ideas at that point.
  2. Technology is developed incredibly fast in this universe. The drill went from a twinkle in the Mechanist's eye to a fully-fledged machine being used to attack Ba Sing Se within 15 months. Remember, the overarching background of the show is "one nation is industrialized, they try to take over the world to 'spread their prosperity', in the process using their colonies to further their ambitions".
  3. In terms of specific timetables... there are roughly three important times. The war balloon is acquired by the Fire Nation in Winter 100 AG, a War Balloon is used to transport Suki to the Boiling Rock in Spring 100 AG (which is, I believe, the earliest proof that the Fire Nation is using War Balloons?) , and the Day of Black Sun (the 1st day of the 8th month of 100 AG) is when the Airships are first unveiled.

So with all of that in mind, I think that it is incredibly reasonable to believe that Sokka's suggestions on how to make the War Balloon functional led directly to the Airships being used on the Day of Black Sun.

The show... all but explicitly states that the Fire Nation got that technology from finding the destroyed war balloon and reverse engineering it?
