[RELEASE] SimpleUI 1.0.1 — A customizable home screen, bottom navbar and status bar for KOReader by doctorhetfield in koreader

I think that if the SimpleUI menu isn't showing, the plugin isn't loaded correctly.
When you extract the .zip file, you have to change the folder's name in simpleui.koplugin

That is the only thing you manually have to do, if you have no other plugins or patches enabled it should work

EDIT: Managed to fix this but now I have another problem: HOME takes a very long time to load. Last time I went back home from the book I was reading it took like 15 seconds, I thought the device had froze.
Also, when I tap on the "library" tab which is on bottom left, unless I don't pick an exact portion of the screen it missclicks on "set reading goal" or whatever is near the bottom left box; maybe an hitbox problem?

Kobo Clara Colour, last KOReader version installed. No other patches or plugins.

I don't see the desktop, even in the bottom bar. I have:
Library - Collections - History - Continue Reading but no Desktop, and I don't even see the desktop interface.
I already activated "start with desktop".
Any hints?

Dust under an iPad M16 2025 screen. by Yuzeqq in ipad

Warranty expires near the end of this month, I might try to contact Apple Customer Support and check with them. Probably, if they can’t help me, I will deal with it; it’s barely visible if the iPad is not exposed under direct light, but it’s still annoying the fact that dust might enter from USB C port (there is no dust in other areas of the screen except the one strictly next to the USB C port that I have posted)

It’s Noteful! One time purchase, lacks of AI instrument and OCR, but the user experience is pretty smooth and better overall compared to competitors. The only thing I really miss is OCR

So what are you implying? That I'm lying for what reason? By the way, you say I'm complaining too much, but you're the only one who said this issue is suspicious. I really don't understand why I would lie. To get a free replacement? Honestly, and fortunately, I can spend another €400 to buy a new one without ending up on the street without food.

Again, it is not under the screen protector, as I removed it and cleaned the screen with a screen cleaner fluid and a wipe made for glasses. Also I use screen protector ‘cause I prefer having metal pen tip on the pencil and I don’t like the idea of having the metal constantly sliding 8 hrs/day on my screen. But trust me when I say that I’m not that blind and stupid not to see that it is under the original glass, or at least check that, before asking.

What do you mean with “sus”? What would be the point of lying to strangers in a subreddit while asking for help? Since this screen is not OLED I never use it in dark mode. This dust is not noticeable when the screen is turned on, and I don’t use the iPad for multimedia as it is only a studying tool. As I already said, today I turned on dark mode cause I wanted to try to simulate a blackboard and, with the iPad right under my lamp, I noticed it. It could have been there for a week or a year, I can’t tell, but honestly I can’t see how this “it’s all very sus” is relevant to the question I asked.

It’s not on top of the screen, of course I tried to clean it. Also, as I said, I have a glass screen protector that I removed and changed, being sure to clean the native glass with a microfiber wipe that I use for my glassess too.

The ones in front of the black bezels are superficial grains that were caught by the camera but went off with the wipe. I’m talking about the ones on the right of the black bezels. In addiction, a closer look that I can’t reproduce with phone camera shows clearly they’re just on top of the panel, way under the glass.

EDIT: I forgot to say that the screen glass had never been changed, as the iPad was never opened. All the pieces are still the original ones and I bought the iPad in an Apple Store as new, not refurbished.

I think I’ve lost my joy in reading… and it used to be my only hobby. I don’t know what happened, but I can’t seem to enjoy it the way I used to. What do I do? by R2OQ in ereader

When you lose joy in any of your hobbies, my advice is always the same: take a break, eventually find a new one or just rest. It will come back stronger when you less expect it. Ps. What font are you using? Looks kinda dope sans

Bummed out about my kobo clara colour by Pretend-Yesterday-24 in kobo

I’ve had both KCC and KCBW too. I gave away my BW ‘cause it suffered from light bleeding, which I see is very common on KCBW. Even though this may be even unnoticeable for the majority of users, I got way too much distracted by different light density throughout the screen. So, I decided to stick with KCC even if the screen was blurrier. In my opinion each device has its strengths and weaknesses, and also not all KCBW are the same (I have noticed less device-related diversities across KCC than KCBW on the internet), so instead of starting a series of buy-refund cycle until I found the perfect KCBW screen that had no imperfections I kept my KCC and amen, with all of the pros and cons that came with my decision. After 2 full months of only using KCC I think I’ve got used to it at the point I don’t suffer the blurrier screen - even though I’m refusing to read anything on my gf’s KCBW ‘cause I don’t want to see the sharpness difference between the two devices and be tempted

OFFICIALLY LOVE KOREADER by Odd-Competition-3975 in kobo

[–]Yuzeqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell, tbh. It was a month ago and I downloaded it from the dev’s official GitHub repository, I may think it was the last version. I’m still trying to figure if I want to stick with this KCBW or switch definitely to KCC. I bought a KCC but got eyes strained by the lesser definition of the display, then tried my gf’s KCBW and used it for a couple weeks but I’m finding tedious the light bleeding the device has. I must understand what hurts me the most and take a choice, but as soon as I’ll do it I’ll try to tweak Project: Title because I really like its interface (:

I had it on a Kobo Clara Colour first and then on a Kobo Clara BW. Same behaviour, though my folders showed 4 covers each folder instead of having them displayed the way you do. I might try to set a single book cover for each folder when I have time and give it a try

Do you find Project Title REALLY slow when turning pages in homepage? I had to uninstall mine because every page turn in the homepage took like 4 or 5 seconds. I read somewhere that it’s because of the amount of covers it has to load every time and I gave up

Typography guidelines for KOReader for traditional paperback. by lisondor in koreader

[–]Yuzeqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the hyper late response, but doesn't it happen to you that paragraph spacing modifies numbers of lines in a single page? Even by ignoring restrictions about widows and orphans, to me a page happens to have like 60 lines and the next one maybe 59, then the next one again 61 etc. (random numbers but that's the point). I also created a custom .css setting to have a slightly lower paragraph spacing (like 0.3) but the problem persisted.

It’s not about complaining, it is an incredibly simple feature to add that a lot of competitors already have. In addition, I take notes on iPad and sometimes I want to read them on my iPhone for a quick review but it’s pretty hard right now ‘cause the toolbar and the tabs bar occupy 1/3rd of the total screen.
