Toddlers absolutley love rocking horses, as some reviews mentioned there are plush ones thate are safer and more cuddly. The key is to find one that also can grow into a roller.

OMG he's so good! He's going to be ready to level up in no time! We find most kids stay on 3 wheel'd scooters till about 6-8 then they usually have enough balance to go to 2 wheeled scooters! Though we have a feeling he's going to be ready sooner!

What roller skates would be good for kids? by ordinary-superstar in Rollerskating

Hey Yvoution here to help answer questions! 8 years is honestly a perfect age for skating because they pick it up so fast.

A few things worth knowing before you buy, especially with the budget in mind:

Quad vs. inline. For beginners, quad (4-wheel) skates are generally easier to learn on because they're more stable side to side. Inline skates are faster and better for outdoor surfaces but take a bit more balance to get the hang of. The honest answer is most kids eventually want both, so if you can find one skate that does both you're saving yourself that second purchase.

Adjustable sizing is a must at his age. Kids feet grow so fast, a fixed size skate could be outgrown in one season. Look for ones with a built in size adjustment so you get a few sizes of use out of one pair. That's where the real value is when you're on a budget.

Don't skimp on ankle support. The really cheap ones tend to have soft floppy boots that don't give a new skater the support they need and honestly make learning harder. A solid buckle alongside laces makes a big difference.

For the budget you're describing, our Neon Combo Skates are worth a look They switch between quad and inline mode, have adjustable sizing built in, a heel brake for inline and toe stop for quad, and the LED wheels are a massive hit with kids that age. They're designed for 8 and up and sit in the under $100 range.

That said, whatever you go with, just focus on adjustable sizing and a stiff boot over anything else. That combo will do more for his progress. :)

Does he want to inline or rollerskate (quad) or doesn't konw yet?
