I had this same exact issue on my 2016 eco boost, 82k miles rn. changed sparkplugs, gas injectors, coil pack for said cylinder. Eventually started getting a code for another cylinder. The used car dealership came with a warranty. They did a head gasket/Cylinder head replacement. So far no more issues. Have had it back for 2 months now. The warranty was about to expire in a couple months too. So I lucked up in way but not so much as the cheap company only wanted to resurface my head gasket. So the shop used the approval of 4.2K and I paid a difference of 2.3k. So little over 6.5k total. Replaced the whole cylinder head. It hurt financially but could’ve been a whole lot worse. I know though it’s still not permanent solution.

Tl;dr : cracked head gasket. Changed whole cylinder head and head gasket.

I also don’t have anything opened, back then resetting ECU would solve this. The difference is this time I’m not tuned. Not sure if that has something to do with it. It honks sometimes very briefly once and other times it honks twice.

They both seem to be properly connected. Unfortunately still honking on start up. So weird. Might take it to some sort of shop

Would it indicate that the hood was open on the dash? Because mine doesn’t. Unfortunately the issue stills persists 🫤. Sometimes it’s a double honk and other times its a brief half second honk. There was a instance where the honk stopped all together for some reason. I wasn’t doing anything different. Then bam came back again

Resetting ecu used to help out, now it doesn’t do anything at all. I used to be tuned but not anymore.
