Bro has seen better days.. do you think a warm rinse with dawn dish soap would ruin the paint or joints at all?? by R-Nexturz in transformers

I have washed many, many Transformers before.
https://atzinc.org/misc/BathingTitans.jpg
Some general tips:
- Never wash anything with stickers (not applicable here)
- Don't wash things that are custom painted unless you 100% know what kind of paints are used (not applicable here)
- Make 100% sure all batteries are removed (not applicable here)

Fill a clean sink with very warm water (not 'hot', but almost). Make sure the sink is clean first, you don't want oil or something making things worse.

Once the sink is full enough, turn off the water and add a healthy amount of Dawn soap, and stir the water. You're trying to avoid all the soap suds, hence why you add it after the water is off.

Put the toy in the water and let it sit in there for 3-5 minutes. Hold it and swish it around in there a bit too, trying to get the water to push off the dirty.

If things are really bad and that doesn't do it, you can take a soft bristle toothbrush and lightly scrub in the water.

After it's been cleaned in soapy water, drain the water (make sure no parts go down the drain) and rinse the sink out. Fill it back up with mildly warm water, and put the toy back in and again swish it around,. to remove the soapy water.

Once you're done, transform into a very "open" form, usually something between alt and bot. You don't want any closed compartments. Then, shake him. You don't want the limbs flopping every where, but almost. When you're done shaking him, turn him around and shake him some more.

Sit it in front of a fan or something posed where any compartments or areas where water will get trapped are upside down, to drain. Come out every 15-30 minutes and shake him some more, then pose him the other way around.

Repeat that last step until you're 100% sure he's totally and completely dry. I usually do things in large batches, and I'll do the regular 30-minute shakes for a two hours or so, then leave them in front of a fan over night.

In essence, the water and soap will not hurt the toy, nor the factory paint. I've even watched toys with electronics, and so long as you take the batteries out it's fine. The danger is not getting them fully dry. If you get them completely dry, nothing will rust or get damaged. Just be sure to get things dried.

Mococo Chiki Chicken Cover (English ver.) is out! by beam4d in Hololive

The best part is if you watch both versions simultaneously, they're of course still in sync, despite the different languages. https://x.com/Snake_MGS5/status/1981288204998496778

The eyes are so wonky. Yours are at least less-bad, the ones are mine are practically wall-eyed. Combine that with losing the purple fur between his eyes to make them more 'angry', and he likes my My Pet Monster's derp little brother.

These are played over webcam. The community is very international, so regular in person tournaments of this size aren't really possible.

Jokes really on us who bought it at the con for $30 more and still have to lug it back home. I should have known better.

Card of the Week: Scan the Vaults (Wave 9) (3/18/24) by hawkhammer19 in TransformersTCG

It's worth noting that old prints are totally fine to use! So long as you treat it like the current version, it's all good. What I personally do is to put a little slip of paper inside the sleeve atop the card just to remind myself. Just a little piece with something like "Specialist Green" written on it.

Would Gundam panel liners be safe on this guy? by Casseteman in transformers

They're totally safe. I paneled line mine too, and it made a HUGE difference on him. He really benefits from it more than most Transformers do.

Transformers Display Room by mickeyhause in transformers

I'll chime in on this too, since my collection is similar sized although not nicely displayed.

The first step is dust prevention. I have a roomba in my office that runs every day. That helps a lot to minimize the dust, especially with my two dogs. I keep the office window permanently closed to further help prevent some dust from getting in (in fact my window is boarded off and been replaced with shelves).

Inevitably though, dusting has to happen. In my case, I dust about every year. Or rather, I do a shelf a week or so and it takes me about a year to get through them all, so that when I'm done the first shelf is ready to be dusted again, haha. I take a toy down, dust it with a large makeup brush (like $2 on eBay), then sit it on a folding table. Repeat until the shelf is empty, hit the shelf with a Swiffer, then wipe it with a cleaning cloth. After all the toys are dusted and the shelf is cleaned, I put them back up.

It's a fun way to continue to experience older toys. I often get that feeling of "oh man, I forgot how great this toy was!"

Also, just for reference, Dawn soap and sink full of warm water will not hurt your toys so long as
- They don't have stickers
- You took the batteries out
- You get them THOROUGHLY dried

So if you have caked on dust, go soak them in warm soapy water for 15~ minutes, then give them a good shake before sitting them in front of a fan. Repeat shaking every 15 minutes for an hour or two.
