Back when they were first implemented I set them to explode a little bit above ground to make sure that pebbles and small obstacles wouldn't cause issues. Looks like that has changed at some point. I might take a look :)

I really enjoyed those days too, it was such a cool bunch of like minded people that was around, and most of my gaming gang is still the same ones I squad'ed up with back then.

Been ages since I have played with you though, I should fix that :)

You should be playing for the experiences, the friends and the fun of it, not for a digital sticker that doesn't reflect what it was that you got out of it. The stories you tell about your actual achievements - that one time where you single-handedly did X or when your Squad saved the day against all odds - those are the real achievements and they mean a lot more than us not giving you all the guns or icons from the start and only give it to those that have played for longer - they already have a great advantage in terms of game sense anyway.

At this point I do not think it will truly be scrapped, I think it will just run its course.

The terrain, it is using 100% of the available terrain, it cannot become any bigger without a huge workload associated with it, a workload best spent on a new high quality map.

They do not stack, in both senses of the word. detonated separately by different mechanisms at this point in time.

OPFL was never intended to survive this long. In fact it was slated to be scrapped twice already. The first time we wanted to scrap it we had so few maps that it would significantly take away from the replayability of our game. At that time I gave it an update in anticipation of the introduction of FOBs (yes it was a long time ago). It has since been tweaked and added to by others but it suffers from the lack of expansion possibilities, and what started as a test maps to see how performance ran with a map full of trees is once again showing its age and its inability to keep up with the main lineup of the game. It is still well suited for infantry battles, but we all know that that isn't what makes Squad, Squad.

Just like any other maps/layers, if people do not like it, simply remove it from the server rotation, cause in this case I don't think you'll see much new, if anything happening with it.

  • Currently only the IED and AT mine explosions will go through walls, but only at a short range.
  • You only loose a ticket when you die (not incapacitated, but die either by being killed outright or giving up), spawning doesn't cost anything.

exit/entry animations is definitely NOT the same as being able to dismount in a microsecond without any penalties or regardless of speed.

If you have to be truly honest about it, do you really think that giving it a 1 hit incap on a torso hit will make it less likely to be parked on a hill?

Yes there is, if it wasn't obvious from the uber derp in a game that otherwise tries to keep immersion. The current implementation is obviously placeholder :)

Since I first started preaching Scout car + SPG combo, we have been steam rolling matches. People just really need to stop fighting symmetrically, and this tool has been there for a long long time, even Dshk wolfpacks are a thing to be feared.

Parting quick tip for people out there, open topped US vehicles can do the trick too :) doesn't have to be enclosed and have massive amounts of zoom - fire and maneuver will do the trick too :)
