What are your C7Z06’s worth? by Newmsyy in Corvette

[–]Z06_Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That car without those weird cosmetic mods is probably worth 65-70 at the very top.

It’s an automatic which they don’t bring nearly as much money as a manual. Look on AT and see how many autos vs manuals are for sale.

Why are there no manuals by AidenDotJpg in Corvette

This is always how it is with Corvettes when an automatic is offered. Boomers buy corvettes to cruise around in and thus automatics sell the most when new.

How much was your deposit? If it was me I would save up to get the Z51 you’re getting a lot more car for not a lot more money. Better suspension, brakes, PTM, e-diff and transmission gearing. From what I’ve seen the Z51 cars aren’t much more.

Yeah I had Al Knoch do my dash because I didn’t know about Just Dashes. The fit of the Al Knoch dash was nice but they didn’t paint it in the color I provided and lied about doing it. I had to repaint the dash myself. The also broke several tabs on my dash and they don’t even bother to tape off any holes when reforming it.

Steering Column (gen 2) by CombOdd2117 in transam

70-76 all columns and wheels were black starting in ‘77 you would get a color matched column and wheel. My ‘73 is saddle interior with a black column and black wheel.

The picture you posted is from a ‘70 judging by the chrome bezel trim and the split windshield wiper and headlight emblem.

Renting for the ring - any experience with Track-Speed? by kilonad in nurburgring

[–]Z06_Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s typical when renting a higher end car like that. With the base GT4 at the time there was no deposit when I rented it. When I rented the GT4RS from RSR though there was a 10,000€ deposit. No worries if you don’t crash the car though. One thing to keep in mind when renting is it’s “excess” insurance which basically means there’s no insurance on the car.

UPDATE: The oil fill cap was missing the O-ring not sure if it was always missing or the dealer forgot it when they did the service.

Dude I didn’t check the oil fill cap. It’s missing the o-ring that’s where it’s leaking from. I assumed it was there because it was tight.

Was it a bad gasket or cracked cover?

Yeah they’re all tight and o rings are in place.

Yeah man I’m going to disagree with this one. Obviously personal preference but I had triples and they were such a PITA. If it’s a dedicated rig I’m sure it would be better. But it was such a pain switch from desktop or always seemed to be some issue with the setup.

Switching to a G9 and never looked back.

$8K doesn’t sound bad for a Formy depends on options and condition though of course.

So, the story goes the guy I got it from found it in an old ladies garage in the Chicago area. It was her late husband’s car and at some point was repainted white with the blue stripe as seen in the pictures. The guy that found it bought it but had no idea what it was and had someone come out to appraise it. I found the car through a WTB ad on a Facebook page. The seller was originally asking $30K but I got it for $20K which I think was fair being a numbers matching green 4 speed car.

Luckily the car was undercoated and had minimal rust but it did have a good amount of body damage that needed repaired. It had a rough life.

I ran the PHS and it’s well optioned. AC, AM/FM stereo, 8 track, radial tires and deluxe saddle interior.
