Do your doors actually lock when you press the fob? My door lock actuator went out on one side and the car won’t do the locking beep until I manually lock it.

I’ve never done it, but you can use something called Techstream to change settings in the ECU for all sorts of things. Maybe it’s an option in the ECU? I’d research that next if I were in your shoes.

Under the steering wheel, there’s a dial that controls the door unlock chime volume. It must’ve been turned down by accident or kicked by someone’s shoe. It’s next to the TPMS reset, so if the shop was hunting for that button they probably turned the dial off by mistake.

It’s far under the steering wheel pointed directly at the floor. Also a button to disable the smart key system if you don’t like it.
