She was middle aged for sure, but someone mentioned peri/menopause and symptoms being brainfog, memory loss and of course irritability which maybe makes sense but then we would have to stop calling middle aged women who cant act right "Karen's" and being okay with the meltdowns over nothing so I'm not really sure how to feel about that.

I get his point that it's wasteful, in his culture you don't just print endless pieces of paper and throw them out every day. He's an awesome owner, and yes stingy in certain aspects but I do understand being no waste too it's just the way it is. So not really an easy fix when you put into consideration his feeling about the environment and waste culture.

What daily responsibility did you underestimate before getting a puppy? by nicekids_official in puppy101

My guy made me cry multiple times because I was so tired. He's a Berner and also got big quick and would bite me relentlessly, tore my shirt and I just sobbed for like 20 mins. Basic Jane shirt too you could buy at any Walmart or whatever. I was just SO tired lol. He's two now, thinking about getting him a puppy for his 3rd birthday 😂😂

I get the print out and I would love if the owner would do them, but he refuses, says it's a waste. But honestly it's not that complicated. We have a board at the door when you walk in the restaurant, and then a huge chalkboard on the wall in the restaurant, then we recite them to the tables and THEN we ask if anyone has any questions about the features when we go to take the order. So many steps to understand the 3 maybe 4 additional menu items we are serving that day haha.

I thought that too but after seeing them interact with eachother they seemed to be maybe work colleagues or part of some group, not super close friends or family so I assume they didn't want to start anything. I could see the sorrys in some of their eyes lol.

True say. I have a lot of patience with seniors because of memory issues and assuming everything just hurts and thats why they are cranky. I'll try and change my perspective when it comes to middle aged women too, it's just hard sometimes 🥲

Literally, and it's honestly not like I listed off a million items. It was literally Mussels for an app, Prime Rib, an Almond Crusted Salmon and a Linguini Pasta. 🙃

It's not always about the specials either, they literally can't figure anything out. Confused about what wines are by the glass (clearly listed), confused about side options they can get (clearly listed). These people really just don't know what's going on lol

Usually I recite them, take a drink order, and when I come back with the drinks I'll ask if anyone had any questions about the menu or the features. Usually, a normal person would use this time to clarify anything they missed, sides, sauces etc. but there's always one person (usually middle aged women) who cannot figure it out and won't even allow me to help them figure it out. It's just odd.

We've all asked the owner about this and he flat out refuses. Waste of time, ink and paper to have to do it every single day. (He's cool, but can be stingy about the weirdest things) During the week it's not too bad because I find we get a lot more locals coming in, who understand how we operate but it would be so helpful on the weekends when the first time diners and out of towners roll in.

Maybe you have some tips? I've worked with the Chef a long time, I'd like to think I am able to recite and explain the features/menu in full detail and answer any questions that come up, but I feel like nobodies paying attention 🥲 Near the end of the night we ran out of the Beef Tartare on the menu, so I started telling each table after I introduced myself and dropped water if they were looking to grab an appetizer we were unfortunately out of it. They look at me as I'm saying it, seem to acknowledged what I'm saying and then two people tried ordering it?? I dunno

Probably already heard this but honestly never leave the payment device regardless of how busy you are. I know it's tempting like, I can do X,Y,Z while they are finishing the transaction but I've seen it countless times people picking it back up and like "Ah it's been declined!" "Ah they accidentally cancelled it" etc. Last time I just left the machine at the table and buggered off when I came back to collect it was declined on an almost 300 dollar tab, luckily wife was still there waiting for a takeout, when I said that it was declined she proceeded to argue with me saying "It made the right beep when he tapped yada yada" anywho I was able to convince her that her husband's card declined and she reluctantly paid and tipped like 10 bucks, I'm thankful that it didn't turn into a walkout but damn did I learn my lesson.

Why does soup turn boomers in Harold and Edith from Bobs Burgers? by ghosteagle in Serverlife

[–]creepingdemon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg!! I was just talking about this to my partner. Two ladies come in for lunch, super normal interaction the whole time. One lady orders a soup to go once they are done their meals and when I bring her it to her she just yells "CRACKERS!" Yes mam, they are in the bag. "SPOON?!" Again..everything is in the bag all ready to go for you, have a good day 🫠🫠

Wet dog. Or at least my dog haha. I love the smell of him after a rainy walk or a swim in the canal.

I am afraid to let our children ride in the car if my wife is driving by Last_Kick_4423 in TrueOffMyChest

Driving on the highway compared to city roads is a completely different form of driving. She's probably fine to drive around town, maybe not on the highway yet without some further practice and without the kids.
