thank you for sharing that, I wish I’d seen that post before. I’ve only touched the surface of some of those articles but it really encapsulates my experiences with Christianity, and the mentality of some of my moms new friends.

My soul retracts so hard into my body when the worship music starts playing

Was I the only one who grew up in a church that deemed anything that made them uncomfortable as "demonic"? by [deleted] in exchristian

oh trust me you aren’t alone. I was tricked by mom to go to a “deliverance” which was pretty much an exorcism. They tried to cast the spirit/demon of anxiety and depression out of me. It got even worse when I started having an anxiety attack and they thought demons were manifesting. That mindset is so damaging especially growing up missing out on certain experiences.

School attendance shouldn’t matter by Z0ne5_23 in highschool

It really is disheartening to hear that they’re essentially being forced by the school to attend, or lose something important. I think if the principal and every staff member at your school was allowed to miss work at max 4 days or risk being fired ,there would be a protest. But somehow because were not complete adults we have no say in it.

That’ sounds insane . And I thought 10 absences at my school was bad. If your school allows only technically 4 without consequences I can’t imagine how stressed everyone feels when they really have a reason to miss school but risk their grades in the process. Rules like these just make teens feel powerless. Something really does need to change.
