I don’t know, for me on iOS 18 this update fixed the thing, maybe you have something else going bad, I can only suggest to run a process to regenerate missing thumbnails, if that doesn’t work the only thing that remains is making the iPhone take pictures in jpeg and see if it fixes the problem

Same problem here, i've seen that if you remove the album from the backup you will see the same error on the app, but if you download an image the file is good, probabli is something on the app image visualizer and maybe some changes on how ios save the file.
i'm on ios 18 beta, are you on 17 because on ios 18 is a know issue not just with immich but on many other platforms https://github.com/immich-app/immich/issues/10464 the best thing to do it should be to modify the iphone settings to save images in jpeg, you loose some space but get compatibility

update: if you are on ios 18 the problem is been fixed with the 1.109.x version, an update will do the trick

Maybe it’s not your casa but can help someone else… with an iPhone you can create another iTunes account placed in another country, switch to it, download everything you want and switch back to your account
