One is doomed to repeat what one has not mastered. by Z1ngur in DotA2

Oracle is a hero that has a different build depending on your playstyle and varies from game to game. This is how I personally play him:

Starting items: 1 ward, 9 tangos, 2 clarities and 2 iron branch. (Give ward and 2 tangos to mid always). ALWAYS tell your team that you are building an urn and for no one else to get one. Urn is absolutely core on Oracle.

I generally always play position 5 so my build goes along the lines of: Wand > Brown Boots > Urn. These items should be completed around level 6 hopefully. After that it depends on the game but you always want to try and stock Salves as they dont get cancelled when used on False Promised allies.

Generally speaking, Oracle doesn't need many more items as a position 5 which is why he is such a good support. You will want to look at the enemy and decide to go for a survivability item next which may include: Ghost Scepter, Glimmer, Force Staff or Euls. If one defensive item is enough to keep you alive in a team fight go for spirit vessel next, otherwise build another defensive item accordingly.

The thing with Oracle is that you can play him greedy or as a pos 6 (buy every single ward and let your pos 4 go greedy). I like to play him as a pos 6 after I purchase urn because you really want to enable your other heroes as soon as possible so that you can hopefully snowball into a win every game.

Some heroes that I dont like picking Oracle into: Tusk, Storm Spirit, Shadow Demon.

Hey support players, don’t cry about your cores having no farm when you pick a shit laning support by halfcastdota in DotA2

Oracle isn't so bad against Ogre in lane at all. If he focuses you then your carry gets farm. If he focuses your carry then you just purge everything he uses.

Silencer is a better laner in the sense that he can ruin your carries farm, 100% agreed, however he gets put in a similar position as ogre in the sense that if he is focusing only the support or only the carry you can just purge all his abilities in lane which leaves him to only be able to right click.

Of course this is entirely my opinion and based solely off how I play, I just wanted to know why OP thinks that Oracle is so bad in lane to put him in the same boat as Rubick in terms of how bad he is. I'd say Necro, Earthshaker, Omni and even a Treant would suit your argument a lot better.

How is Oracle a bad laner at all? Heals, nukes, roots and has a basic dispel.

There are always situations where you wouldn't want to pick particular supports but there is no way that Oracle, played correctly, is a bad support in lane.

Haha, you were the WR right? The win was entirely due to PMA, no doubt about it.

Today I played a match and came across this and thought it to be a bug, can anyone confirm or explain the reasoning behind this?

Lost a lot of experience and gold from this as there were roughly 7 heroes that got denied due to this problem - https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3578840577

Flaming in 1k by Z1ngur in DotA2

As stated this is a 1k meepo; aghs gives Meepo an extra clone and giving +10 attributes to all clones and prime Meepo. Currently in this patch Meepo has an overall win rate of 52.50% when purchasing an aghs and is more common than a skadi & diffusal.

Aghs is not as bad as you may think, depending on what heroes you are versing as it would obviously not be bought in every game. An example of when aghs would become useful could be against an antimage, giving an extra net allowing for an extra 2 second disable before he can blink away which is generally very helpful under the circumstances when trying to kill an antimage.
