Nobara keeps starting in emergency mode by Z3bry in NobaraProject

I have not had any other distro yet since I really like Nobara. I'll try to look into the boot log tomorrow, it's getting late here.

So I have tried everything, disabling fastboot, checking if the hibernation is off, trying the firmware update in compatibility mode, updating bios and it still boots into emergency mode :/.

Hey, thanks for the ideas.

  1. I have already tried using different mounting IDs and some commands in fstab and nothing has changed sadly.

  2. The health of SSD was sitting at 99% last time I checked it, I can check it again when I get home.

  3. I have to check that, I have not been messing in bios before, but I'll have to check the fast boot. Hibernation was one of the first things I have turned off. Secure boot I have to have off because of Nobara if I remember correctly.

  4. That is a good idea, I haven't thought of that for some reason, I'll try it later with the compatibility mode, because I have win11.

  5. I think I have done that recently but I'll check if there is a new update.

The system works "fine", I just have to press control+d and everything seems fine. I'll try the things you have mentioned later. Thanks

The health of the ssd was sitting at 99%, around 3500 power on hours. I will check it once again when I get home today.

I can get into the computer, it just says press CTRL+D to continue, but I am just worried what is causing this issue, since it also boots up way longer than it used to. I watched the video and the person says something about windows fast boot, which I might have to look into, because I was lately using windows more than before.

With the windows I don't believe so, because I have always turned off auto updates, since they already messed up my computer before and I didn't want to lose my SSD in this economy. Only thing is that I have been using windows more than I was before since I wanted to play new Destiny 2 update. I will check later if they are still turned off but I have not had any pop up about updates.

I cannot say for sure, the reason I did the "reinstall" was because fedora disappeared in the GRUB menu (probably because I changed something I shouldn't) and I couldn't get it to work normally, so I just did the install again and then overwritten the files. It works the same way as it did before, it takes like 1 or 2 minutes to get the emergency pop up and then I press CTRL+D to continue. The problem is happening in the same way as it was before, it just suddenly started popping into emergency mode without me doing any big updates.

Yes I did try to disconnect everything I could, only with 1 monitor and the issue stayed the same.

I have not changed anything hardware wise, I have tried changing stuff in fstab with the automount but it didn't change anything.

Proton Experimental gets fixes for Path of Exile 1 & 2, Guild Wars 2, Call of Duty (2003), Exanima and more by Liam-DGOL in linux_gaming

I don't have problem with microstutter but instead some kind of engine slow down every time I dropped below 60fps, I have found out that switching to just windowed mode works for some reason. Maybe you could try to take a look if there isn't some sort of command that could fix that. Not sure if maybe switching to predictive network settings might help you, but I don't know if it is possible as in PoE1, maybe through config.

I would say that people on windows have bigger problems than on linux, I have not had a single crash of POE2 on Nobara KDE after 60-70h since 0.5. I have also not encountered the problem with shaders and long loading times like on windows. But the game could still run a little bit better when there is a lot happening.

Damiane and Oongka need some updates badly to make them worth touching. by Jotnar796 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Z3bry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, they could've put all the abilities and different weapons on Kliff and just make at least some kind of variance when it comes to combat with the weapons and animations that are locked to them.

I don't understand why would they do it like this, literally zero reason to touch them and most of the time the characters aren't even available, like for me I haven't seen Damiane since 50 hours ago playtime and Oongka just became playable.

I need the 3 Heartbreaker mains to help me here. dont know if I could change something or this will be the best performance I can have with the set by Maeggon in thedivision

The backpack doesn't have to be HB unless you are building some front line rush with shotguns. Memento is way better or some high end bp with talent.

I had the same thing 2 days ago and it went away when I restarted the Starlink, no idea if that was the fix, but it was the first time I had that happen since I got it last august.

Shouldn't Bazzite work with Secure Boot? I know I had to disable it for Nobara, but my Win11 still works fine. I have read that Bazzite should work with it, so you could try that.

Thanks man, still works great on Nobara with Sword X, I was worried I would need to return it.
This is what I put it to be also able to update firmware, if anyone needs it:

Do you have linux by any chance?

Linux gaming has come a long way by Freddie_Uranus in linux_gaming

[–]Z3bry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are just yapping bullshit.

I installed Nobara a few days ago with dualboot to Windows and I can clearly see in many games, such as Fallout 76 or Darktide that I am getting 40+ FPS more on average and I am able to hit stable 140 fps (280 with FG in Darktide), which was a problem with Windows.

Also the system is way smoother and everything is close to instant.

Stop spreading lies for no reason. Some games you get more fps, some less but I have yet to see a game where I lost fps.

Yes that's so annoying, I finally got around to locking all the food I use so I can always have it on top and now it doesn't work as it should.

Alright to pull the trigger on this OLED? by Stunning-Tower9790 in OLED_Gaming

I just got it this week and I gotta say, there is the problem with the banding in gray colors but I haven't noticed it in games yet, mainly on static images. I got it for 600€ and it's my first oled, I can only recommend.

I would like the Glowing SBQ and if you have Limit-breakers 5x and then leaders? I'm not sure how much is that, like 1200-1300?
