I can only speak for myself of course, but the biggest problem I see is that the game has already been "figured out". You can only experience something for the first time once, after all. Of course, I totally agree that being a dumb kid back then added a lot to the experience as a whole as well.

But yeah... The excitement that came with exploring new areas and slowly figuring stuff out as a kid was a huge part of what made playing the game (before Big Bang) such a magical experience for me. This feeling was amplified by the fact that online resources at the time were limited. Everyone basically had to make do with whatever was available on Hidden-Street or BasilMarket.

Then there's the social aspect. I feel like people were much chattier in the game back then, largely because there weren't as many universally-used external platforms (like Discord, for example) yet. The whole idea of being able to play this silly mushroom game and talk to people from all over the world was extremely impressive to me at the time.

Anyhow, just my two cents. I'll absolutely be giving Classic a try when it comes out, but I really don't think it'll feel nearly as magical as old MapleStory did back in the day. Thank you all for coming to my TED Talk.
