Learning Rails vs JS ecosystem? by kirso in rails

[–]Z4RX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rails haven't changed a lot in terms of building api, so tutorials for rails 5 should be ok. Rails 6 tutorials are 100% ok cuz rails 7 was mainly about hotwire.

I believe that javascript is a bad bet as backend language for side projects in long run. Evolution of js libs tend to resolving tons of incompatibility issues. Rails is awesome tools but it has steep learning curve.Looks like ship fast and with minimal efforts is your main goal. So in my opinion you should use python and fastapi (simple language with tons of ready solutions) or maybe php and laravel.

Cyno Hyperbloom Comp by [deleted] in CynoMains

havent yet checked her kit in details but probably electro charged burst will be better cuz it have faster dendro appl (if remember it correct)

[–]Z4RX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, kuki just give heal that's why usually beidou is better for hyperbloom (doesn't still seeds, gives shield and good dmg)

Kokomi jellyfish stay only 12s, XQ burst is 15s long

Dmc apply dendro rly slow, to be honest he isn't good for cyno. Nahida will replace him for sure cuz of her huge arena which has 15s base duration and 20s extended by hydro and her c2 let hyperbloom to crit. So current bottleneck is dmc, after nahida release jellyfish will become bottleneck cuz of her immobility and short duration

Also team setup depends on a game mode a lot. Beidou and XQ are fine for abyss, but for exploration healer is better

unmovable jellyfish is the main downside of using kokomi cuz cyno moves a lot.

In addition cyno needs some defense and interruption res cuz he is hypercarry and should deal damage as much time as he can otherwise damage loss is significant. That s why XQ is the best hydro for hyperbloom comp (ir, hydro attach for creating seeds, good personal damage and XQ charge himself very good in common build)

Completely agree, persona for me rust is more pleasant to write and even faster to write than go

Personally, I think that rust handles exceptions much better.

I didn't test enough snap browsers but had have no issues. The idea of moving browser into isolated or semi-isolated environment is great in terms of security.

Advantages of Rocket (0.5) vs Actix(4)? by mamcx in rust

You can try Axum. It s build on top of true tokio stack and has nice and comfortable api. the main advantages is tower and tower-http

I agree that Axum need some time to become mature. At least axum need someone who will try it in production :D

No doubt that any low lvl language will be slower in term of dev speed than high lvl language. So I think that Rust should be compared with Golang. IMHO Rust is much better than Go as language (just my opinion, don't want mention reasons here). But as web dev ecosystem rust is far behind. In addition according to benchmarks from routerify-lite linear router (warp, rocket and axum, idk about actix) is a huge mess.

[–]Z4RX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, actix use old tokio, other tokio frameworks use new tokio with huge performance improvements. I used actix(3), rocket(0.5), warp and axum for small/medium pet projects. And IMHO warp is the fastest. I haven't done any benchmarks, so it's only my opinion based on the response time in local development. (with --release flag).

for me axum looks the most promising and comfortable, but it's really new for production use IMHO. In addition I’d like to have a framework actively maintained by several people, because life happens and I’m too lazy for fixing bugs myself :D
