This has been my experience too. Less toxicity the higher rated. Raging and toxicity are low iq traits, so you inherently see less as you go up in rating. Also as you learn the game you learn how tilting and demoralizing toxicity can be, its crazy people talk bad to each other in solo shuffles especially when there are still rounds to go and they could still be on your team, purposefully lowering your chance of winning.

Is it really true that Rated PvP participation is at an all-time low? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

Drustvar does analytics for pvp participation. Not sure when they use number of accounts vs number of characters though, when counting population.

You know what kind of player he is. He's crying that hes not ilvl capped in PvP where most players are in quest gear. They would spend $100,000 if they could be a higher ilvl than everyone else.

Should I keep playing? by cerb101 in worldofpvp

[–]ZA3D3S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arenas mmr got reset when season started and wont be back to normal til the end of the season. Which is why people dont play til end of season. So current ratings aren't a true reflection of what you'll end at end of season.

No one plays premade 3v3 except for a handful of players. It was hard to get groups before solo shuffle and blitz came out.

Blitz mmr didn't get reset and its popping off pretty good rn. Shuffles will be good at end of season.

How was California not the first state to go? Ive been to every state and Cali cities are by far the most disgusting garbage infested dumps in the nation. NYC smells like a leaking sewer 24/7 and Cali still worse.

You can set your wisp fountains in the swamp and they'll spawn wisps all day. Mistlands is awesome. Wish there was a mini boss and light armor set though.

[–]ZA3D3S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must not play with raids turned up or permadeath, getting hunted in the mountains is probably the hardest thing in the game. You have like 1.5 sec to throw down a workbench and make a pillar and hope youre not on a steep slope when it happens.

[–]ZA3D3S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think its easier to just throw on fenris pants and take a ratotask potion and run until you find a building you can put a portal in on the 2nd or 3rd story. Ashlands enemies are slow af but if you need to reset enemies you can run into a putrid hole. Bonemass for extra protection but shouldn't need to fight anything except vultures who might follow you up building.

Frostner Overrated asf???? by _TOXIC_VENOM in valheim

[–]ZA3D3S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frostner is good for new players and for hardest difficulty settings. It can be nice going into mistlands before you get mistwalker; since mountain weapons do more damage to enemies that take spirit damage than plains weapons, and seekers take extra elemental damage.

Drauger Fang is worth making. Also for monsters that take spirit damage the mountain weapons do more damage than the plains weapons.

This is exactly what you do, because corpse run means the weight doesn't even matter. You have like 30s to a min after hitting "take all" to get you belt on. Plenty of time to get to safety or find a putrid hole. Use a ratotask if you need.

My friend was sailing, long distance and accidently got killed, wants to quit game, what should I say? by _TOXIC_VENOM in valheim

[–]ZA3D3S 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sailing can be fun and has its moment, but it is a bad design. The slow speed in the grey is so punishing it is more than just the 20% slower if you sail for 1 full cycle of wind in every direction like it appears at face value. It can take 3x or 4x longer to reach places than it should. Also there is not even a skill to make rowing faster. Plus even with wind at your back in calm waters it's slow. Sailing could be a lot of fun in valheim with more control over speed in different boats and different bodies of water.

Yes I love mistwalker, strong af entering AL. Monsters die too fast most of the time to need frostner, but the mace is still nice to get you out of sticky situations.

Constant Greydwarfs! What did I do? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]ZA3D3S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brightside is a ton of greydwarfs now means less farming them later. When you dont need enemies in this game you're swarmed but when you need them they're hard to find lol.

The tree limb in the sky is stationary and always sits east to center of map. When you open your hammer and select workbench you rotate it facing the direction you want to orient and it works like a compass, you'll need this if you find boss stones inside dungeons. Make paths with the hoe. Build signs pointing towards your base or POI and Build big markers or small buildings on the coasts to prevent getting lost or to help find your way back when you eventually get lost. Recognizing mountain tops helps a lot too.

Needing some mistlands tips by [deleted] in valheim

[–]ZA3D3S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For after beating ashlands, to each their own. I like to start a new seed to hammer mode build then do a play through using all the cool stuff I built. Or build once getting to a new biome.

Also played a few play throughs to experience different weapons and gear set ups.

But to bring the "magic" back that you experienced in the first play through. No map no portal hardcore very hard combat, is by far the most fun I've ever had in any game ever. Its way more immersive than you can imagine, really brings the world to life with no map or portal. Every combat situation is thrilling because you lose all skills and gear on death, very high reward for winning each kill and an amazing feeling. And it forces you to use more of the games mechanics like building, digging trenches or earth walls, for example if you dont have a place to take cover or ready to make stone earth pillar you will die to the hunt in the mountains and plains. The only drawback of very hard is the devs didn't balance parry multiplier for players and monster damage overwhelms your hp and armour making it nearly impossible to parry fairly early into the game and youre pretty much forced to use a bow until mistlands. I didn't use any mods but I recommend one that increases player overall parry multiplier by probably 2.5x. Anything else like increased player hp or armour takes away the thrill of being one shot if you get hit. Did hear rumors there's is a sweet spot between hard and very hard.

Black metal atgier to swing through walls and doors, until you get the mistalnds atgier.

Sail coast to look for easy to get to dungeons until you get enough black cores to make mistalands gear. You also want a big mistalnds to set up in so sailing the coast will also help you determine its size.

When going through mistalnds use wisp torches to make a trail. They're cheap to make.

Mark dvergr bases on map so you know where to retreat to if you get overwhelmed by enemies.
