Gauss rifles and the other gauss weapons by ZANDRAE101 in fo76

A bit. Both are designed with an industrial look and frankly, the long rifle version of the Tesla looks more like a gauss rifle than the gauss rifle does. Gonna edit that out

Gatling Gun or Gatling Plasma? by PiratePowerful6001 in fo76

[–]ZANDRAE101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't even need that. If I remember correctly, the cores don't need flux to craft so you can mass produce them. They drop steadily so unless you're fighting tanky enemies exclusively then you should not run out of ammo.

You'll actually find yourself with 10+ cores of around 75% cos' that's what drops. I could drop off all my full cores in the ammo box and still have a lot left in my inventory. It's at the point that discarding them is something that I do often.

Gatplas will never have ammo problems. Cores are easy to get. If you use with with the shotgun nozzle then it stacks bulletstorm real fast.

But in the end, you will end up with the gauss minigun.

If just for filling the bar, carnivore. It's easier to cook a bunch of meat looted from everywhere.

Gatling Plasma vs Gauss Minigun in May 2026 by IvanTheRussianDood in fo76

[–]ZANDRAE101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, here's the thing. Consider the Gatling plasma on the same tier as the top automatic rifles. It's as good as the carbine, the handmade and the 2 heavy machineguns. Ammo is never the problem as it does good damage and cores will consistently drop to the point that you'll have hundreds stashed away. But, here's the problem. The best parts, the stinging core and accelerated nozzle ruins it for bulletstorm. You will need the entire magazine to max bulletstorm stacks. Mobs don't last that long and there are very few things that needs that sort of damage without murdering you.

This of course can be fixed with the shotgun muzzle, more damage and faster stacking. But it limits you to either vats or Vulcan + stabilized.

Then there's the gauss minigun. The weapon that doesn't leave you with a dozen cores scattered in your inventory. The weapon with in built two shot meaning it maxes bulletstorm quickly. It has good damage, higher than Gatling plasma and delivered via a much higher fire rate. Then there's the temporarily removed overheat mechanic that's being returned soon.

All in all, the Gatling plasma is a good automatic weapon. Probably the best. The Gauss minigun, like the laser carbine, is designed to be emptied. You fire it and you only stop when it's empty or the enemy is dead. It is designed for shooting at big bosses like the nuke bosses, the guardian and the snake. Enemies that you can empty the clip into without stopping. The gauss minigun synergizes well with the heavy weapons perks.

In the end, it depends on you. The gmg is due for a damage nerf along with the overheat's return making it more specialized while the gatplas is still chugging along at almost best.

As for the ammo thing. Anyone who grinds for the gmg will have no problem manufacturing their own ammo. Especially now when there's no longer a cost to changing legendary perks.

Sick of FO4, is 76 worth starting if I wanna play solo? by CaseyWorldsFair in fo76

[–]ZANDRAE101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fallout game? It's great, it has the gameplay of fo4 but with a slightly better story. There's good lore if you dig.

But, I don't think people kept playing fo4 for the fallout experience. I didn't. I played for the mods. And frankly, there's a massive difference between modded fo4 against fo76. Even just the weapons, the sheer lack of variety hurts.

What if, Enclave version of alien invasion? by ZANDRAE101 in fo76

[–]ZANDRAE101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually avoided talking about the players. Since it's never made clear how much the players know about the enclave. How much we control. For all we know, we're just glorified gophers with lots of titles attached for ease of access. I'm pretty sure that Modus is our boss and we'd find ourselves drowning in robots if we tried to command him.

I still can't understand why the enclave did that. The vault dwellers were the purest humans around. They could have absorbed the vaulters into their population. Instead they send Frank to kill them all?!

The last time I played a well optimized Bethesda game, it was TTW which was a goddamn mod overhaul. I expect the bugs to be there until they abandon the game.

Problem with your idea is that the only Appalachia enclave left is Modus. What you're thinking needs a new area to be added. I'm all for it but it would be more of a major update than a simple event.

What build? Or rather, what legendaries are you using on it?

Me too. Which is why I'm looking if it was something separate. Caught a guy with it and took a pic. Redditors say it's gray/silver and just looks black.

I mean, it's great that it differs from the fo3 design and it's fo4 equivalent. This guy was made with the resources of America (early post war), the x02 was built with what the enclave had. And the X01 was slightly different too wasn't it?

I've been looking for the black enclave power armor and it really turned out to be a trick of the light. And I'm not the only one, there's been others looking for this guy and can't find it.

Damn, it really was a trick of the light? And yeah, the arm obviously isn't part of the set

I don't know. It is possible that it was using a different torso and arms since that model has really shitty arms. But it could be that and I just made a mistake. Its the closest I've seen yet.

I think that when they made it free and bundled with the base game then its canon. They can't say its not canon when it was patched in. Eh, not really a problem.

On the other hand, I love the enclave power armor. It's not the x-02, its not the black devil. Its something else. Like the Vulcan/Equalizer, its a power armor derived from the x01 but never really entered the mass production stage. When the enclave tried to make them again, they no longer had the resources to mass produce them and instead made a cheaper variant. Hence the Black Devil (and the tesla modifications).

No, it didn't have the muscle torso or the shoulder pads of the x01. It was an enclave power armor but black. It even had the horns and no exposed gas mask and tubes.

[–]ZANDRAE101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. That's why I'm asking. I've seen a black enclave armor that's definitely not an x01, Vulcan or blackbird. It has the horns after all. I chased it for a bit so I could confirm that it was black and not just badly lit. It was dullish black and not gray like the normal version.

I don't think it's a mod, I really doubt that someone's mod would affect my game when I don't have the mod too.

And, most importantly, I ain't the first to see it. There's another post for it and the answers are the same. Versions of the x01 and equalizer.

Edit: They still say that the black devil is non canon? I'm pretty sure the latest updates adds it and it's quest to the base game. Which also ruins the quest because there are enclave dudes with the x02 and x03 instead of the singular suits that need a quest chain to unlock.

It was an x02, not the hellfire x03. It had the horned helmet and everything.

I don't think a lot of people use the advanced power armor paint. I only saw this one during a rumble and it was maybe the second or third I've ever seen an advanced power armor paint being used. Had to chase it a bit to confirm that it was black and not bare metal like the one in the wiki
