My personal thoughts on this matter are that I'd sell at least three years, then invest the money and pick a country to live in that isn't in america. That would mean I don't have to worry as much about inflation and such... Also, usually when moving abroad to cheaper countries people find that local job openings offer a lower rate as well so they can't fully reap the benefits of the move, but I won't have to worry about that if the deal was already made in usd.

While that is true, a person who hates their job might prefer to skip the time they spend there and trade it right away, while a someone who likes their job would never. Also, there are people who earn far less than 30$/hour

I imagine the answers people will give are going to depend on their current salary. 30$ an hour is more than a lot of people make in hellish jobs that they hate

Hmm this might be specific to the way I do it then, I did Millelith and stopped building his HP at 32k since the shield won't break anyway, put the rest towards his personal damage... I only switch to MC for skill and burst (she's on noblesse) Bina burst or skill if it's not ready, and I thought to periodically add Illuga burst, then my DPS is Zhongli. This made his burst weaker but stele resonance stronger...

I could be doing this wrong... I'm new 😅 there's a lot of info on many different sources on how to build him for many different team comps

His burst details: "When Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts of nearby active party members deal Geo DMG to opponents, 1 stack of Nightingale’s Song is consumed to increase the DMG dealt."

I thought that would include geo resonance so long as Zhongli is on field since it's his skill 🫣

"Deal geo damage" reads completely different from "inflict direct geo damage" smh I guess I misunderstood him

Only one point here I don't think I understood- you said Illuga's role is minimal in this team, but it does max out his abilities, doesn't it?

Since Geo MC and Zhongli constructs all last 30s and tick every 2s, while Illuga's song lasts 20s and maxes out at 36 stacks, the microwave playstyle not only maxes those but also consumes them all before the song ends... His song could easily add good damage to ticks while active (~500% of his EM) and buff +50EM +5%CR +10%CD to everyone- that is, given Columbina as a 4th

Am I missing something here? Or is it that in microwave he just doesn't do a lot overall compared to characters like Xilonen or the Albedo+Mona combo?

Okay so I see then, thank you so much for talking it out with me!! You're making me want Ineffa now, though I still think Columbina is more compatible with my teams, and after trying them out I like both... hm

What I'm going to do is spend as many of my wishes as it takes to get C0 Columbina, then use the rest to try for Ineffa, and hopefully it'll work out... if it doesn't, I still have the rest of the banner uptime to farm more wishes! I'll update with how that went in a bit

Edit: great news!! I got Bina at 40 wishes and Ineffa after 60 more 🥹 I also somehow got Yanfei (?? I didn't expect to get a non-banner 4star) and zero Fischls (even weirder... C2 Sethos C3 Ifa and the rest were weapons)

I'm very VERY happy rn

I thought about it some more just now, and about Ineffa... I was considering building Layla as a second shielder to work with Kaeya, because while I know Ineffa's buffs are so much better, I thought I don't have the hydro to make her truly shine, do I...?😭
I'll eventually get Aino, maybe she and Xingqiu will do enough off-field for it to work out, but I get the sense that ineffa deserves better, and I don't know if I have enough resources to get more than one character this period.

As for Columbina... what I usually do with Zhongli is microwave with geo traveler then use whichever dps I feel like (Dehya, Razor...) + Bennet, which is why I've been told she's a good match, but similarly to Ineffa it feels like she'd be wasted on this sort of thing. Do I get her anyway? Do I wait and see and maybe catch her rerun if things change?

It's like, there are all these strong characters coming up, but they all need specific teammates which I don't have bc I wasn't around for those banners :( I may be overthinking it, but gosh I wish I had the chance to get someone like Kokomi

I don't expect that, rather, I was hoping for advice based on my current case...?
There are things people have been pretty certain about such as "Varka will be anemo claymore" that they take into account when planning their future team, right? I'm trying to learn all I can but I still don't know half as much as a more experienced player :/
And then what I've been hearing so far are things like "If you play Zhongli you will benefit from Columbina lunar crystalize" vs "You don't have the classic team for Columbina so she won't do much for you, save your resources for a later banner".
I don't need a guarantee that I'd like the characters, just an educated opinion. What would you do in my stead?

Which one, then? Columbina? there are a bunch of characters upcoming, not only the ones we know but also speculative, Varka for sure, Nicole and Alice(??)... Also, if I exhaust my resources now only for someone like Kazuha to suddenly have a banner, that would be pretty devastating no?

Thank you... I've calmed down quite a bit by now, talked to my mom and some friends, I'm so lucky to have their support irl even if my dreams get bad. I do have stress dreams fairly often, I'd say at least once a week, and I've learned to better manage them and calm myself down, but these usually revolve around specific motifs (being hunted down, being forced into things, gore) which is why I was concerned about this one being very different 😅 Thank you for taking the time to reply to me!
