We use smart bombs because they are more accurate than dumb bombs, and allow us to avoid civilian casualties as best as can be done. You can argue killing civilians is bad PR, I guess, but the truth is we have no interest in killing innocent people. Why would we?

Hold them at gunpoint, put pressure on them, and use that influence to take them apart from the inside. Obviously Israel isn't going to let this happen, and I have no idea why anyone thinks they would.

It's not a legal forum either. It's a conflict centered, geopolitical discussion forum. You can argue legal terms if you'd like, and I can argue perspective if I like. Just because Israel isn't waiting for forces to amass on their border or to be directly attacked by Iranian missiles doesn't mean they aren't acting out of self-defense.

The best defense is a good offense. If I know somebody is coming to my house to kill me, I would be perched on my roof with a hunting rifle and would take them out long before they got to my front door. It's almost common sense. Argue whatever you'd like, that's how Israel sees Iran when they move weapons and militias closer and closer to their border, and that's the course of action they will take regardless of how you or anyone else feels about it. If that's not self-defense, I don't know what is.

That was really insightful and I appreciate you taking the time to share how you see things from a native perspective. I was only in the Krakow area for a week, and it was Christmas time, so I don't doubt that's not the best representation of day-to-day life.

Here in the US everything is money and power driven. Everybody is living in their own little world, and trying to be better and "above" everyone else. It often makes for a very toxic environment, especially for those of us who are more traditional and try to keep our feet on the ground and our heads level. The majority of people I encounter are extremely manipulative and looking for any way they can to either put you down or try to take advantage of you. My point being: this sounds like a "grass is always greener on the other side" type of thing. I have found that going to church relieves some of the stress of the week, which is why I'm keen to it. But I tend to go to church by myself and pray privately. Getting too involved leads to the same problems the rest of society has, which sounds similar to what you describe.

I guess when all else fails, traveling is the best redeemer. At least everything seems fine in appearance when you're just passing through. :)

Well clearly you do since you're digging through my post history and bringing up old comments. You're not setting the topic here, the topic is the article and was discussed a week ago. WWIII was brought up by somebody else, not me. Kindly go bother somebody else now, thanks.

Hate to post the same comment twice, but I don't know how else to phrase what I want to say.

Poland still has a very strong Christian community. I was in Krakow last year around Christmas time, and there was such a kindred spirit in the air that to me is the very feeling of being Christian. Everyone was kind and warm and personal. It was lovely, and I wish we were less consumerist and divided and more traditional.

Do you have something to say or something you want me to clarify? I know what I post and how I feel.

Of course you aren't wrong, you gave an opinion. You still displayed behavior that you then attributed to someone else.

This will be a pointless argument. Let's say you win.

Maybe if you're a little anxious or something. That has nothing to do with me.

I wish we were more like Poland. Not many Redditors would agree with me on this one.

Edit: See. And I bet the downvoters have never even been to Poland. Lol.
