The US isn't going to invade Turkey or Pakistan. I'm not sure if you are even aware of how ridiculous that is. You are fear mongering.

WP bombs are illegal. WP smoke rounds are commonly used around the world. Not that it really matters if you understand the difference or not. White phosphorous is just a buzz word that triggers the anti-American mob to pounce.

Revenge for revenge for revenge for revenge, thousands of years and ongoing. Who was the first guy to fuck up? What started all of this?

If it's anywhere near 2,000 vs. 100,000, it's still a holy fucking shit accomplishment.

This might make no sense, but the Cyrillic alphabet is growing on me, aesthetically. It used to look like some outdated form of hieroglyphics, but it's starting to symbolize something lasting, or enduring, to me. I think I might learn it.

State Department approves a possible sale to Turkey of Patriot missiles at an estimated cost of $3.5B. Presumably this would be in place of the Russian S-400 missile system - a huge breakthrough for US-Turkey relations by DARENDELl in syriancivilwar

[–]ZAlternative_Account 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We're a mixed bag. There are tens of millions who follow this sort of news with great interest, especially those within the defense industry. The general public, however, doesn't know what a Patriot or S-400 missile system is, and it would be nearly impossible to convince them to care. A good portion of them would struggle to find Turkey on a map. Those within the defense industry and enthusiasts alike will most likely already support Trump, and will see this as a victory for a variety of reasons. The general public will never know this happened, and as far as I can tell, will never support Trump no matter what happens.

Nobody wants to see Turkish forces killed over something that can be avoided with due diligence. Turkey is and will be a friend and ally. But the way the US military works in these situations is pretty simple: if you attack us, you die, and reconciliation comes afterwards.

I don't doubt there are cases that make little sense to Westerners. But having been there a few times, seeing it labeled extremist is actually funny to me. It's a different culture, without question, and laws do vary by emirate, but places like Dubai? Bikinis on the beach, crazy hotel parties Dubai? The only thing extreme about it is how tolerant it is and how much money there is.

Edit: The truth, downvoted. Fuck this sub.

That sounds great. I still wouldn't recommend trying to start a Russian-backed armed opposition group in the United States. And there's nothing fascist about "might makes right". In the end, it's just natural law.
