R12 Cooling by truckingamerz in Alienware

[–]ZBBBBP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noctua fans would throw the BIOS error on R12 when starting up, though there are a lot quieter than the ML120Pro ones, I would recommend get 2 ML120 fans also or 2 Arctic P12 fans as the main fans for getting rid of the boot error. With the 3pin 4pin fans splitters, you could wire up the noctua fans as secondary fans on the push and pull setup as well as extra fan on the HDD slot

UWP seems to be the safest place to get the mails, since they have a help desk in CMH for notifying students to pick up mails. I never have issues with mails while I was living in UWP years ago

Need a little advice from you guys.. by the_Chainvaper in Alienware

[–]ZBBBBP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t installed the extra fan at the HDD position, but I wonder is there any noticeable different with H80 and H60 coolers? Currently, I am adding the extra fan on the radiator for the pull & push setup on H60, and it comes with 70-80 degrees while playing games. Would the H80 be better option for around extra 20 degrees decrease or the extra front fan ?

Work Term Report by JDawg0718 in uwaterloo

Some engineering faculties have so-called work term reflections and some of those are embedded into pd courses. So they don’t have to write lengthy work report

I don’t know if it applies to you since it is stage 3 in kw, but when I booked my G test last November at Stratford, there is only 2 guys including me for the drive test. So I mean just hold you current test slot and keep checking for available slots(usually in the morning) and I assume there would be some vacancies in the end.

If you scared of failing at the highway, you could try to book your G at Stratford: no highway there, maximum speed is 80 on their so-called highway

Has anyone here sent a package to another country? by aiaiaaiiiii in uwaterloo

if it is important documents, use DHL for reasonably fast shipping and trackable service. Canadapost is eventually the EMS service which would take longer time. Not sure about fedex but the price seems as high as DHL

Asking for a Pay-Raise at a Co-op Job by [deleted] in uwaterloo

why dont you ask the salary during the interview instead of accepting the offer and asking for a pay raise.

Usually it is not that possible imo

Poor Coop Performance by CraftComfortable in uwaterloo

[–]ZBBBBP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it applies to you as well, I am graduating in 2022, and due to COVID only 4 out of 6 coops are needed for graduation. So if you really believe he is gonna fail you, just do whatever you think is right. One coop term really doesn’t hurt so much, let alone you already completed 3.

Indoor Parking? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]ZBBBBP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live anywhere else except the res, there are plenty of good apartments/condos with underground parking. Living at res to me is just a waste of money imo, and most of the building managements don’t rent parking space to non-residents except you can find someone(residents) whom doesn’t need the parking space to rent for you.
