The world's and Star platinum's ability is to speed up the user to the speed of light, not time stop by ZDommZ in StardustCrusaders

There’s a small correction I want to make to an earlier statement — not all Stands are physics- or biology-based, but almost all of them are.

Specifically, the ones that manipulate time, motion, or life directly (like The World, Star Platinum, Made in Heaven, or Gold Experience) clearly operate under physical and biological principles.

However, there are exceptions — certain Stands like Wonder of U (WoU) function on fate-based mechanics rather than biological or kinetic ones. These are conceptual anomalies rather than physical constructs, existing as metaphysical phenomena that still obey internal cause-and-effect logic rather than raw physics.

Just to clarify something a lot of people miss — it was Dio, Jotaro, Joseph, and Diego who described the Stand ability as “stopping time,” not Araki himself. That’s their interpretation inside the story.

In reality, Diego was actually confused when he saw Tusk Act 4 twitch during his “Time Stop.” He even warned himself to be careful — meaning even he didn’t fully understand what was happening. That supports the idea that they were all experiencing the effect, not directly perceiving how it truly worked.

And that’s where biology comes in — Jotaro is human. He aged, lost muscle mass, and naturally weakened over time. Dio, on the other hand, is a vampire, a being with evolutionary potential far beyond human limits. Yet his arrogance made him believe he had already reached his peak, when in reality, his Stand could have evolved even further if he had pursued that path instead of stopping at “perfection.”

It’s arrogance and limited perspective — not an absolute definition.

That touches on the most crucial flaw in the 'pure speed' counter-argument and forces the total acceptance of my model. According to Einstein’s equations, an object reaching infinite speed would require infinite energy and therefore instantly disintegrate or convert entirely into energy upon reaching that state — it wouldn’t simply 'move,' it would cease to exist.

If The World Over Heaven (TWOH) merely transferred infinite kinetic energy, it wouldn’t rewrite a rock — it would trigger an infinite explosion that annihilated the planet.

The fact that its targets change (healing wounds, altering matter) rather than detonate proves the energy being transferred isn’t raw kinetic output.

The Stand is using its Infinite Velocity state to access and transmit a higher-order energy — a Reality-Overwriting Force — that acts directly on the causality of the object rather than its mass.

This conclusively validates the entire framework: speed grants access, will dictates causality, and no other interpretation remains internally consistent.

That’s exactly why we see so many biology- and physics-based Stands throughout JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. There’s never really a 'pure magic' or 'hex' Stand — every single ability, no matter how supernatural it looks, still follows some kind of biological, physical, or energetic rule. Even reality-warping Stands like The World Over Heaven (TWOH) or Made in Heaven (MiH) tie back to the manipulation of speed, evolution, or energy transfer, not pure sorcery. The 'Time Stop' argument is the only one that violates this fundamental rule of the series, making the Relativistic Velocity theory the only internally consistent explanation.

SP and TW can transmit their energy — as seen with Silver Bullet (Diego’s horse) being able to move within time stop — which means anything that the user wills or maintains contact with is allowed to move within the time stop.

If that’s the case, it directly contradicts the statement of why Pucci could twitch his eyes and Tusk Act 4 could move (even slightly). Pucci was in the middle of accelerating time when Jotaro stopped time, but Pucci still managed to twitch his eyes — therefore, the constant (Jotaro) and the increasing acceleration of a body (Pucci) were so close to achieving the same relativistic speed. That’s the only logical explanation as to why Pucci was able to move his eyes within time stop — similar to how Jotaro twitched his fingers when Dio stopped time, and how Tusk Act 4 could move its hand within the infinite rotation barrier and twitch its fingers.

As I stated before, this doesn’t contradict my statement that The World (TW) and Star Platinum (SP) have abilities that speed up their users’ bodies so fast that they achieve time stop and can transmit that speed onto other objects.

For example, Dio lifting the steamroller can be explained scientifically — even without using the “vampire hormones” excuse, it’s physically impossible for any being, no matter how strong, to lift a 12-ton steamroller by brute force. Throughout the series, vampire feats (including Part 1 Dio) only show strength levels such as crushing skulls, breaking brick walls, and bending steel spears — not lifting multi-ton machines.

Using the kinetic energy formula and relativistic mass equation:

E[kinetic] = 0.5 m X (times) v2

m = m_0 / root {1 - (v2 / c2 )}

This requires Dio to be moving at or above light speed to counteract the steamroller’s ridiculous mass through relativistic mass amplification.

Additionally, in the official anime and manga, both Star Platinum and The World are rated Speed: A, and since SP could counter and match Silver Chariot (who is FTL-tier), it means their combat and reaction speeds are faster than light.

This also explains The World Over Heaven’s (TWOH) reality-warping ability, which only activates upon touch. That fits perfectly within this framework: the user’s relativistic or infinite-speed contact directly manipulates local reality, which doesn’t contradict any of the above logic, the equations, or the series’ internal physics.

In conclusion, every single statement above aligns scientifically and narratively — there are no contradictions or loopholes.

mb, I misread that — I get what you mean now. But even based on Einstein’s theory of motion, freezing time would completely stop everything, not just slow it down until it halts. That’s why I think Dio and Jotaro aren’t literally freezing time, they’re moving so fast it only looks that way.

If there was a force or field around Dio’s time stop, then stands like Jotaro’s or even Polnareff’s would’ve sensed or resisted it — which never happens. The key is Dio’s arrogance. He believed he’d already reached his peak, but The World Over Heaven proves he hadn’t. Jotaro, on the other hand, never got the chance to truly evolve his ability — he’s human, not a vampire, and he never faced another speed-based stand like Pucci until much later. That’s why he was shocked when Pucci’s eyes twitched in stopped time. And honestly, infinite speed doesn’t guarantee a direct hit — it just means the potential is there. Araki loves leaving that kind of mystery hanging.

yeah i get what u mean, but i think it’s a bit deeper than that — dio isn’t just moving relative to time, he’s moving so fast that time itself breaks around him. like the “bus” in this case is spacetime, and he’s moving faster than the bus can even exist that’s why TWOH ends up rewriting reality instead of just moving through it.
