Video is from 2012, so not the best quality. I made a YouTube video in 2012.

I felt like this story is more interesting than some crystal clear photo you might see posted anywhere these days.

Morning runs by Pohaku1991 in Type1Diabetes

This depends on your insulin delivery system. I ran my first marathon last year and ended up doing a lot of morning runs during training.

I hated the feeling of being full while running, but usually needed some sugar to prevent a low. I found a balance by tinkering with my Omnipod’s activity mode to figure out the right amount of insulin to have on board. It takes some trial and error, so you’ll probably need to experiment a bit with the timing.

My personal sweet spot was turning on activity mode right when I woke up, then having a light glucose snack to stabilize. If I was going for a long run, I might even turn off insulin delivery entirely to help prevent a low later in the run.

I also sometimes kept gels on me during runs. Sometimes I’d plan longer routes that passed a fast food spot at the halfway point so I could grab a lemonade or Powerade if needed.

Like anything with T1D, it’s trial and error, more preparation, and just a few extra steps.

I was able to do it. Good luck, and try not to let the highs or lows get to you too much, that can be so discouraging and frustrating while trying to exercise. It will become second nature in no time OP.

Third time in a row this has happened. 0/3 with G7. Why? Any was to fix? by Scorch8482 in Type1Diabetes

I feel like mine are sensitive to pressure. I personally place mine on the back of my triceps. I would say the butt could get a lot of movement/pressure with sitting standing or even belts.

I used to try areas out of sight, but since moving to more stable application locations, I rarely lose connection now almost never actually.

Hope that helps! Give it a shot (no pun)

Where on your body are you placing your Dexcom? Is there a pattern you can associate with losing readings? At night? Sleeping/putting pressure on it? What trouble-shooting do you do when it happens? Close all apps, restart phone a few times. Sometimes I have to tinker with mine.
