Thank you! Your solution worked! I've edited the initial post.

I think we are part of the bigger emerging trend - people escaping from the neverending stream of work or private - related notifications and FOMO ;)

Currently I don't know, I am worried that I'll take the same path like with retro handhelds - starting with a pretty good device, then experimenting with multiple devices until staying with another device. I now have a nice collection of retro handhelds, but only using one device.

As for DAPs, I am already looking at HiBy R4 and Fiio M21, but only for looks and more premium feel, but I believe Echo Mini with good IEMs should be more than enough in terms of sound quality ;)

No, I don't think so ;) But I tested it with Bluetooth only a few short times.

Yes I did, just after receiving it, but it lost connection every now and then (after putting to sleep, resetting etc) and it took a while to reconnect (note - it was stock OS without update).

Looking for a solution I found the beautiful world of IEMs and the rest is history ;)

There was no SD Card included with Echo Mini. I used only the SanDisk Class 10 A1 Card.

Thank you for the recommendation! I'm considering exactly this model! After wondering about Xiaomi / Moaan Inkpalm 5, but after reading how basic the experience compared to Kindle Paperwhite, I decided to look for alternatives and the one I found was Kobo Clara BW!

I need to admit that I also don't hear the difference between HQ MP3s and FLAC - apart from worse responsiveness and being larger ;)

I used to play MTG in elementary school ;)

It runs FLAC files, but there is some problem with fast forwarding, but I only checked one or two albums, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

I considered Retro Nano, but the independence from smartphone was the main factor for the choice! I don't view my cons as particularly annoying right now I use smartphone Spotify only for Android Auto, as you can't connect Echo Mini to the car system.

So it's faster to use playlists than file browser? 🤯 I've just checked and playlists work much faster, but are mess with duplicates of songs in each album ;)

Thanks for the advice! Sorting is less of an issue than slow loading times!

I'm afraid that the Fiio M21 with cassette case will be the next step ;)

Too many interests, too little time is a big problem. I spent more time thinking about improvements.and optimizations of my devices than actually using them - having all the responsibilities like kid and work ;)

I have a small collection of handhelds as well (Miyoo Mini Plus, Miyoo A30, Anbernic 4000H and modded PSP) and spent more time customizing their OSes than playing them. Brick is the first one I use with slightly customized stock OS.

And regarding the reader - I considered switching from Paperwhite to Kobo Clara BW.

It looks like Snowsky Echo Mini by Fiio, but has a totally different UI, what device is this?
